But for those just looking to get the device unlocked and used, that is a better deal IMHO.
64gb variant with same ram is also available for just $59.99. with an expandable card slot, that is a much better value for my use case as a backup phone or reselling after unlock period ... YMMV

It's the total amount for the whole year. Like I mentioned, this deal is only good for those who just need the phone unlocked to be used outside Tracfone

Yes I paid $39.99 after the coupon NEW2025 but I placed the order last week.

there is a lot of shovelware to remove, and battery killing setting that are enabled by default
but once you get past it, it's great for budget conscious phone with no real compromises.
i got the $20 poetic revolution case which includes glass and repeated drop protection.
i put in a v30a2 card which does r/w 100/60 in this phone, more than enough for anything.
probably the only downside of any ips is direct sun will seem to wash out the display
i didn't find the 720p res limit to be a problem for anything i do with this phone.
4gb ram may not be an issue as the OS has a ram cache feature.
