I don't think they're making a 3rd gen, this model released a couple years ago and have seen no updates about a new one. I'd shell out so much for an OLED version...

Be sure to check this screen out very thoroughly when getting it. Mine has at least 4 dead pixels that I didn't notice until about a month after receiving and what appears to be some kind of burn in that can really only be seen with grey screens. The dead pixels aren't too bad with local dimming on... didn't really notice them until I turned local dimming off and now it's too late to return. Also, a lot of dirty screen effect. Besides all of that though, love this thing.

I use this bad boy every day as my sole monitor for web dev. One of the few that can sit right on your desk and be used at 100% scaling at all times

55" 4k and the PPI isn't too big for productivity?

I have a wall mounted office system that I don't know exactly how much weight it's designed to hold. Is this really around 100lbs?

I have this but in my opinion it's pretty useless design . It lacks practicality

I used a woled 48 inch (really close-desk usage) and a 65 inch (close but maybe 2x desk distance) at 100% scale and they are more usable than the 42 inch size 4k at 100% scale (which I have also used). I found the 42 inch 4k to need 125% or so otherwise the text was really bad - both small and blurry instead of just a little blurry like on the 48 and 65 inch.

i have triple monitor setup with odyssey ark. make sure you unbox em as soon as it gets delivered for any screen cracking, I believe you have between 14 to 16 day window to return it. after that you cannot return it nor have it warrantied to fix the cracking problem.

mine cracked after a few months of use. somehow cracked internally and samsung claimed it as physical damage. they would not honor warranty.

other than that i love em but will not support samsung anymore.

Damn, I added a deal alert for Samsung Edu and now get countless alerts for monitors which I have no interest in. Can anyone suggest a solution here not to receive alerts for monitors? Wish they introduced [—] before the word to exclude threads with a certain word that comes after [—]. For example if one adds "Samsung Edu -monitor" they would get alerts for all samsung edu deals excepts the ones for monitors

I've also used the 42" and 48" in and have come to the same conclusion that 42" is not that great at 100% scaling. When my eyesight is not great 42" will have to be replaced. Can I get your opinion on 48" vs bigger?

I used 100% scale pretty regularly on both a 48 and 65 inch LG oled. On Mac OS and on Windows. I preferred those to the 42 inch. Ideally 48 inch 8k 120hz with a nice deep curve would be perfect, but gotta wait a bit I guess.

Going into it I thought I would find the 48 inch too big, but it was better than 42 for me.

With the 48 inch at 100% scale you can easily have 2 rows of 3 or 4 windows and not feel cramped.
