I got one about a week ago from Walmart as a Wi-Fi only phone. It's Wi-Fi 5 and 4G only. You have to update it to Android 14 which is the last version update it'll get. It uses 2gb of Ram Boost by default. I just left that setting as is. The only apps you really have to keep are Moto and Device Pulse. All the other bloatware can be disabled or uninstalled. The phone is fast and the battery lasts a long time. I don't turn it off. I wouldn't use it as a main phone but as a backup for Wi-Fi only and other tasks, it's good and fast.
If you have a phone farm for various DePin projects or whatever else, this phone is suitable. My only complaint is the fingerprint sensor is located too high up. Other than that, the sensor is fast. The speaker is loud. The phone doesn't freeze up or close apps when confronted with too many apps being open or when playing music. But don't push it, obviously.

You are talking about two different things. You can no longer do a COMBINE when you have two active lines and need customer service to combine them to one line. You can still do a HARVEST when there is only ever one active line. You activate the new device with a transfer of service clicking on "keep my number" and everything moves from you current line with the year of service/minutes/texts/data added on. Then, you can repeat the process moving back to the original device (either immediately or after 60 days if you want to ensure the unlock). A harvest can be done entirely online without involving customer service.

I can't believe you can buy a brand new decent smartphone for $25. Whatta time to be alive. Too bad I can't think of a reason to get this.

When was the last time you tried to move minutes, data, etc. to an existing phone?Tracfone has refused to move to another phone for over a year. Now they will only move everything & write over, not combine, existing data, minutes, & you lose your current number.

Excellent price as if it they are Wi-Fi only devices. Can be used as digital clock & weather display.
Camera, FM radio, too.

This is very tempting to get as a device to use strictly for podcasts, which is what I use a very old phone for right now. I would need to find a use for the second phone though. I don't care about it not having 5G since I would just use it as a wifi device.

Considering this for our middle schooler to have for emergency purposes only...planning to lock down all web browsing, games, etc.
That said...any ideas what to with the 2nd phone that we don't need? I'm assuming if I try to re-sell it, it's locked to Tracfone.
Like others said, stack for two years service. Unlock first after 60 days, use as a spare in case of emergency, e.g., broken, lost primary phone.

Just as a friendly reminder -- the 1500-plan is total for the year, not per month. That works out to just around 4 minutes of calling per day.

(in before everyone tries to justify this with "but I only use a phone for THIS or THAT for SO LITTLE". Cool story brah, thanks for sharing. It's like saying you "bought a car that has three out of four wheels, you never drive it anywhere since you have a free metro pass, but it's a great vehicle!" Using it exclusively on Wifi defeats the purpose of a cellular device.)

Also, this device is a bit lacking since it doesn't have 5G -- in some areas, that'll hurt your connectivity coverage. And having merely 64gb of storage is a headache, though you can supplement your own microSD card at least in this model. It has only 4gb of ram, but that's typical of budget phones -- you simply can do only one thing at at time. It's perfectly adequate for low-usage, low-expectation scenarios.

The worst part is that it's loaded to the gills with bloatware and spyware. Some stuff you can't clean out either, at most you might be able to disable the software from running. And the carrier can "push" new applications to your device -- so even after you de-junk-ify it, you'll find more bloatware like casino games, birds in need of therapy, and anti-social networks from time to time. It's obnoxious.
how is this not helpful.... bots are crazy

only if you are new user.
I have always been a new user for the past five years.

It's usually the payment or email that can prevent people from being a new user. If you use a virtual credit card number instead of the real one and use a different email they will still ship to the same address.

...But but but would they ban you for using New Customer coupon?
How do they determine if you're a new customer? By address?

Lucky! Every time a deal comes up like this, my order always ends up being cancelled

I haven't ordered since May '22, also a G Play (2021). Any chances?

If you stack the 2 years, doesn't that mean that the second phone will not be unlocked?

Has anyone ever hit a wall with constantly combining time from these deals to their main line? I think I have like 6 years of airtime but this is tempting to add another two years
There have been issues combining accounts in the last couple of months I had an issue where I almost lost 8 years of service time and did lose a lot of minutes, data and texts. I think the account balance combining gravy train is over.

New customer is by email address. That's it. If you have a Gmail account with [email protected], create another account with [email protected]

If you do it right away, yes. Activate the first-keep my number, wait for it to unlock. Activate the second-keep my number, wait for it to unlock. Stacked and both unlocked.
