morale of the story is don't use any 3rd party cables or docks with a Switch ...
This isn't like the days when WIFI G, N, etc were rolling out and every manufacturer was hoping they'd luck into soon to be "fully implemented and adopted" standard by picking a random possibility out of dozens. USB C standards are pretty much set in stone and have been for nearly a decade. There is zero excuse for Nintendo to create their own system that has no real world benefit outside of increasing their peripheral market share and gross profit. My Samsung phone charger can charge my Steam Deck, my Steam Deck dock can output video from my Dell Laptop to my HDMI TV, my retro handheld can use either output to my MSI 34" monitor....I am sure the Switch 2 could have as well.
