Yes peltors are fantastic with higher-pitched noises like shooting, and even running a narrow bladed saw. Typical noise reduction headphones focus more on lower frequency ranges like average lawnmower noise, or jet engine noise (from inside the cabin).

Those look like some chonky earpro. Would probably be fine for handgun, but not sure how well you could use them for rifle. I use slimmer earpro from Howard Leight and Walkers, and still have issues with them hitting the stock.

You want to get flat attenuation ear plugs, these reduce all frequencies evenly, this way you still get to enjoy how the sound/music was meant to be but at a lower db
