yes stomping grounds is very legit. Prices on these are dropping because costco had them in a bundle for $60. I think they're also going to be re-printed like LOTR.

Will they drop further? More of a FF fan than MTG and it's kind of confusing. I keep reading some items are going to get printed over and over while others aren't going to be printed at all anymore. My Costco did have these for $10 more with a few extra items but the Limit Break/Cloud/FF7 had been picked out.

there are rare and mythics but every commander deck is the same. Each them deck is prebuilt. These also come with a collector booster sample that has 2 cards.

Limit break is definitely the hardest to get. Will they drop more? Maybe but not by much. The costco bundle was definitely the better deal. It came with the commander deck, 2 play boosters which are $7/8 each, and the promo cards.

Same here... I had no idea what I was getting into when I did but from what I gather, it sounds like only the Collectors boosters have are one time printed cards vs everything else is subject to reprints.

FF set was the best selling MTG series ever so I can't imagine it won't be reprinted, sold $200m on day 1.

I've seen Revival Trance (which seems like the least popular due to it being a poorly prebuilt deck for play) available regularly and Scions & Spellcraft (which was one of the better decks prebuilt decks for play) seems to be coming back in stock in some places.

Well now I'm MORE confused😅
I love FF and haven't played MtG since the 90s when WotC bought them out.

bottom line, if you want them it's a good price. There's no collector's value in these. Unless you get something great from the sample pack. I bought all 4 for $70 about a month ago. And i bought 2 of the costco bundles. I got nothing good from the collector samples.

How do you mean they were picked out if they were sealed??

Costco and other retailers buy the commander decks in sets of 4. At the costco this person visited, the costco was sold out of the FF7 deck. Presumably they didn't want to order more 4-packs until they'd sold more of the other 3.

To address the "will these be reprinted" question: Yes, expect multiple more print runs in the next year or so, and maybe a little later if they don't stay on shelves. I don't expect them to get much lower than this if you want the full set, though.

No set gets printed for longer than a year or two (except foundations), and this will be no exception. The main difference is that Wizards of the Coast won't be allowed to make reprints of a lot of these cards without significant alteration. For cards that don't use Squenix's proper nouns they may be able to reprint them in future sets with as little as new art. For the legendary cards and other cards that reference the games more directly they have a more complex process where they make a mechanically identical card with a new name and put a tiny note in the corner that the two cards are considered the same card for tournament purposes. Because this is a pain and annoying for players to track, this is pretty rare. I'd assume that almost none of the legendary creatures in these sets will be reprinted in the next decade. But I'm just some guy.

It appeared someone had gone through the whole pallet and picked those out. The first time I went the other 3 had some stock though just a few counter blitz. Went a few days later (was stocking up on their Pepcid deals not the MTG) and it was all trance. It did seem like there must have been another pallet or they received more trance than the others.

It's also confusing as I'm not sure what MSRP is for many of these. Like Target had some FF7 stuff that I think is the "rare" cards but it was sold through them by a 3rd party and, I think, was already marked up.

I might go back and see if I can get a Costco Trance to trade for a regular Limit Break if there's any left.
