That's a style I remember from the mid-late 80's, but most of them were high tops or mid. More of a basketball utility shoe. Low/no tops didn't exist because you'd snap your ankle playing randoms at the local park/court. Some people got extra long shoe strings and did a crosswrap across the ankles just to stiffen them up. Jordan was an underdog then. Always arguments on the court about who's best, cause he was "short" at 6'6".

Any shoeheads know if Nike is making sb dunk lows anymore? Or if this the evolution of them?

I loved them a decade ago and cant seem to find them anywhere or an update to why

They do still make low SB Dunks, but they usually get released on Nike's SNKRS app and/or in skate shops so the popular sizes usually sell out fast. The last two pairs of SB Dunks I got were from StockX, so not really slick deals. You can still find a wide variety of SB Dunks on the reseller market, and unless it's some super exclusive signature model, a lot of them are pretty reasonably priced (although you do have to deal with extra fees).

dang, was gonna ask same thing, wish i didn't absolutely thrash my last pair. (got them on SD!)
