Since the benefits are annual benefits, looks like one can get the benefits twice for the 1st year of membership. If keeping the card for longer than one duration, then not relevant but definitely great for milking the card in the 1st year.

Where do you see that? Citi thank you points can be redeemed for a penny when redeeming for statement credit. You might be able to get more value but 1 penny/point seems to be the floor.

Why not just use the AA Barklays CC for the AA miles? I mean the Admirals Club tickets is a nice feature.

Personally - I do that only when ready to book award travel and award is available. Airlines keep devaluing the points over time and making fewer and fewer seats available for award travel.

The redemption rate stuff is near the bottom. They recently nerfed the redemption rate on some of their cards, including this one.

That isn't me saying don't get the card, but it's a terrible cash back card. May be a good travel card.

Thanks for the info. In the same article, they say this: "According to Citi, if you have both the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card and the Citi Double Cash® Card, you can choose which card to redeem your points through for the highest value, depending on the type of redemption you'd like."

I do have the citi double cash - so hopefully I can cash out at the higher rate. I will apply for the card - the 1st year is a no-brainer

- 80K/100K points - that will easily pay for the annual fee
- $600 in hotel credits (since calendar year based)
- $400 in splurge credits
- Possibly 8 admiral lounge passes

Applied and approved immediately - card should arrive in 3 days. Credit score was 830 but dropped by 14 points due to the query.
