I'm not TC'ing and I think this a good deal. But don't be misled by thinking that you can't be scammed on Aliexpress when the item is supposedly shipped from the US. Last year I purchased an item from Ali that showed as delivered with tracking, but I never received it. Seller had shipped a piece of junk to a different address in my city. This is a common scam. Again, I'm not saying this is what will happen with this bike, but if tracking says it was received and you didn't get it, you know what's going on.

I know exactly what you mean. Because of that, I installed "up assistant" extension on Chrome which gives you more in depth analysis on the seller. For example, this seller is getting an 8% trust rating with 15.7% neutral/bad reviews.

I had ordered two of these. One came perfectly packaged brand new box and awesomely packed. The other…they sent me a used broken bike with no padding, no parts or key. Box was destroyed by the time it made it to me with a loose bike bouncing around in it. Aliexpress wants me to ship it back. Shipping cost is 560 dollars… more than the bike. I've opened a dispute with my credit card but who knows what will happen now. Waiting to see what happens. Best part is I can't leave a review on the bad one to give others a warning of what happened when buying an ebike on Aliexpress goes wrong. Really hoping my credit card company does the right thing. The bike is not rideable from damage and doesn't even have the required parts to put it together.

In some places this is still considered a bicycle since it has peddles, That allows you to ride on bike paths and in some places sidewalks something you can't do with a ruckus or zuma
Probably in some places. Where I live, since it has an electric motor, it has a motor and is classified as a moped. And mopeds follow the same laws as scooters.
A cop would have to be a real dick to ticket anyone. But, some cops are dicks. I had one harass me for a bit that my 49cc Zuma I had was a motorcycle and not a 49cc scooter, and thus needed to be registered and insured. Fun way to spend the night - explaining to the cop that Yamaha intentionally engineered these to hit 49cc and speed regulate to 30MPH to hit legal requirements for a scooter, all while my friends were having fun without me. 😢
Trick is just to not draw attention to yourself. A kid going 30MPH on a bike path popping wheelies is far more likely to get in trouble than an adult with a bicycle helmet going 10MPH. Nowhere near the fun, so weigh the risk/reward of getting caught. 😂

My first motorized vehicle was a Vespa...8" wheels....no problem going 75 mph...there is nothing inherently wrong with high speeds and small wheels.
There are pros and cons. Cheaper tires, better maneuverability, and less rotational mass. But you're looking at worse shock absorption, less stability at high speeds, and a higher vulnerability to road hazards.
And not trying to call you out, but the only Vespas that can hit 75MPH are the 300cc models, which do not run 8" wheels. Maybe you meant KPH not MPH?

Same, Paypal will not protect you. The one time I had a scam shipment with tracking to my city, I had purchased with Paypal. I tried to show that the site was a scam and the delivery was to the wrong address but they declined a refund.
When possible, always use PayPal to bill your credit card.
PayPal is then the first line of defense. But most credit cards have fraud protection, and you can use that as a second line of defense.
Also, you can sometimes get some PayPal reward points in addition to your credit card's cash back/rewards. So, that's just an extra bonus.

My Vespa 125 did go 75mph....I am not comparing them apples for apples, but 20" wheels are bigger than many cars Smilie

Ordered Monday, arrived Thursday. Everything was packaged nicely, took two hours to unbox and install. Went for a quick test ride, ended up riding it 2 miles around the neighborhood. Then my dad rode it around the block. And then my mom rode it around the block. This was an impulse purchase and so far I'm happy with it.

Wow, I just don't trust Aliexpress. I've heard numerous horror stories. I just don't want them to ship me a picture of the item.

Got mine delivered a week ago. Shipping was fast and came packaged nicely. This thing is hella fast and comfortable. It has a horn and turn signals too! At this price it's a no brainer. It tackles hills with ease and I'm 6ft 225 pounds.

Every state I have been to moped/scooters have to be registered and licensed, not because they called it a motorcycle but because it's motorized and was made to be ridden on the street. Where are you from?

None UL listed. Man, it's just getting cheaper and cheaper to start your own chemical fire. Exploding batteries are common enough that they rarely make the news anymore. Have you heard about EV Jeeps not being allowed in parking structures? Do people think the quality here is going to be better than a car manufacture? The risk vs reward doesn't seem worth it.
Watch, these Chinese manufactures are just pulling a mossad and we're paying to bomb ourselves. These are time bombs.

From AI:

"… mopeds under 50cc with pedals and a single or two-speed automatic transmission generally do not require registration in xxx, but scooters that exceed these specifications may be considered motor-driven cycles and will require registration."

This may have been covered and please excuse me if it has as there are a lot of pages.

I want to order one but have some questions...
Do these actually need to be registered and if so do people actually do it? Google is confusing me. I live in NJ.

Would I have to do a lot of tinkering? I'm not very good in the mechanical or wiring department.

I mainly just plan on riding around locally. Nothing to crazy. Maybe give my kids rides as a reward. I assume a kid can fit in with me (I'm on the smaller side for a male).

No. Just don't go too fast and be mindful on the roads.

Assembling it is the trickiest part since instructions are not clear. Look for youtube videos or ask questions here if you have trouble with it. It is mostly pre-assembled but it still took me an hour to figure out where everything goes. I had to make sure everything was tightened correctly. Wiring is just plugging the headlight in.

If you are not that tall, your feet may have a hard time touching the ground so be careful with extra passengers.
