The revamp sucks. Overseas trains used to be classified under transportation but are now removed.

It is now an expensive yet useless coupon book. Chase deserves to lose loyal customers.

OK, enlighten me. How much did it go up? were any perks added to offset that?

Now, if you're in the air constantly, the $469 club pass to use at lounges at airports worldwide is something many road warriors would get. saves on buying food/drinks/booze and a place to hang with delayed flights

The $250 apple tv+ and $150 in dining credits seem like decent perks. So that adds up to more than $750. not to mention the other stuff that may/may not be of use.

If you're not using these perks/ or have no need for them I understand not having the card, but I'd guess for some the $795 fee would be a business write off? Just looking at this from a purely financial standpoint for select folks.

90% of people who have this card are overspending on categories they never used to shop to get those related perks..LOL

For me I have regular sapphire and a bunch of other chase cards with max $95 fee ( Only 2 of them )and I'm sitting on 2M points.LOL. 90% accumulated by sign on bonus and 10% maybe due to spending. AND I maintain zero balance every month. Go figure.

Oh by the way never used points on business class tickets unless it absolutely made sense

The annual fee for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has seen a steep increase since its launch. Originally introduced at $450, the fee rose to $550 around August 2021 and now, as of ~June 23, 2025, it has jumped to $795. That's a $245 hike from the previous rate, making it one of the most expensive credit cards available even surpassing The Platinum Card® from American Express by $100.

Additionally, the fee for authorized users is increasing significantly, from $75 to $195.

In my opinion, this card is no longer worth it.

Again just my opinion...

It's appreciated, I really had no background on this card when I posted it. Had I known it had gone so downhill in recent years I wouldn't have bothered. I certainly understand people's attitudes in the thread now.

Thanks for educating me.
