Participating restaurants have a compatible POS register system. Your receipt has a receipt number on the top which you enter into the app and it looks up your bill. You then pay via the app (gratuity can't be paid via gift card or promo). I usually let the staff know so they don't think I am dining and dashing.
An extra nice thing about this program is that it completely stacks with the restaurants internal promos/rewards. I've never had an issue with redeeming a club/rewards offer during the meal and then paying with inKind offers as they are separate processes

Thanks for finding this! Going to give it a try on a takeout California Pizza Kitchen order. The issue I'm running into is there is no option to select Inkind for payment. Anyone know how to apply it to CPK takeout orders? Do I need to select "pay in store" and then use the "pay bill" option in the app when I get there? Thanks!
Does california pizza kitchen offer pizzas only in one standard size? Dont see the option to choose Medium or Large
I have "friend of ben" 20 off $50, we miss you $25 off $25, we miss you $25 off $50. Is there a strategy to use these?
Yes - either on separate bills, or if your bill was $125 you could use them all at the same time. Just choose "split bill", choose to pay $25 of the bill, use your $25 off $25 and confirm. The bill amount owed will be lowered by $25, and you can rinse and repeat. I usually pay the full tip with the final payment.
They get their cut from the restaurants. The model works on establishing win-win situations. My only ask is not to skimp on tip.. better to pay tip in cash.

Just an FYI, not all restaurants don't have a split bill option in the app. I've had servers split the bill the old fashioned way, but I've only every done deals with different accounts. I guess it would work with the same account based on what you are saying, but I never tried it.
Not sure if this is working. In addition to the website errors – my number in and verify it just takes me to the main page without any confirmation or further notification.
It took me to the page to download the app. The app doesn't show any evidence of the $25 off if you pay $25. (It does say I've already registered for the offer if I try to signup a second time.)
Is it otherwise just blindfaith that the offer will work or is there confrmation somewhere that the offer is valid and applied to your account?
$25 gets me, what? two non-alcoholic drinks at a restaurant???
I can order a medium 16" pizza with several toppings for $29 at a higher end pizza place. (Grimaldis, Midwest area)
This app has restaurants in LCL areas also. Agree that the restaurants listed are moderately 'higher end' for my area.
Note: 16" is the middle sized pizza at Grimaldi's as they have a very thin crust. It's not a lot a food, so I have no issue calling it medium pizza.

I've used inKind at a ton of restaurants across NYC, and the only ones where this wouldn't work easily is the ones where you manually enter the bill amount and then are asked to show proof of payment to the server (vs. entering your check number and having it integrated with their POS)
The restaurants that accept this in NYC are $100 per person without drink type of places.
There are many restaurants in NYC on here that aren't that expensive - in the East Village/LES alone there's Superiority Burger, Spice Brothers, Ivan Ramen, and Good Thanks - these are all places I've dined at multiple times with inKind and gotten incredible value at, combining promotions with discounted prepaid credit from Costco gift cards. There's even a few pizza slice shops ("Made in New York") where I've had pretty good pizza for very cheap.

Appreciate the rec! A few others of mine:
Ci Siamo in Hudson Yards (pricier but some of my favorite italian food - good if you have a generic $50 off $150 offer or a couple of $25 off $50's to combine, etc.)
Two Hands - chain of Australian cafes, some solid brunch options (breakfast burrito, acai bowl, etc.)
Tacombi - combine this and the BOGO Taco Tuesday option and you're set
Cafe Habana - only been once but was decent, they do a $9.95 all burritos on Wednesdays
Flex Mussels - they have a decent happy hour deal if you like mussels
