Just a FYI, it doesn't like Texas heat.. or at least in the Houston area. Never got below 57 degrees in the trunk of the truck regardless how long it's been running. They sent me a replacement.... same thing. Insulation isn't made for Texas Sun.

You need the extra insulation cover, I know it's BS but it does make a difference. I just got my 53qt and temps have been cooking for the last two months, hot and extreme humidity
These are great. I have the BougeRV CRPRO 30 Quart. It was the biggest I could get that when in the box meets airline check in size limits. It's been to Hawaii a few times, Montana a few times, and up and down the west coast and still kicking after a few years. The insulated cover is a must.

What happens if you fill the cooler with ice cold drinks/frozen bottles first? Can it then keep it below ~50*? Assuming you have A/C running in car too, my car gets to 160 in summer if it's just sitting outside.

I'd say like any cooler you need to get it to the desired temp in a controlled situation first. I've had mine set to and maintain -5 degrees and filled almost completely with ice cream bars (around 100 bars) at home. Took to a softball tournament in middle of summer in SoCal and it sat in the sun for 6 hours straight until all ice cream was gone. Never did the ice cream melt. Yes the temp would fluctuate up about 5 degrees before kicking back on though.

Gee, exactly like the Joytus fridge I bought 5 years ago. Same Chinese stuff with a different brand slapped on. Shop around for the best deal as many items like this are exactly alike.
BTW, the fridge has been rock solid. And the comment above the insulated cover is spot on.
