My issue with the Colorsoft is that the color layer on top leaves a visible grid on black and white text, and the color itself is not vibrant enough to really add much.
If you mostly read books and not comics, a black and white Kindle gives a better experience and crisper text.

I agree with you, I bought one for my wife and compared to my Paperwhite I am not a fan. I haven't messed around with the settings too much but I didn't see a quick toggle for inverting the screen either which is really useful for night time reading.

As others have said the color aspect of this is probably most useful for comics and such. I didn't notice a degradation of non-color pages though.

But the reason I sent mine back was there's no night/dark mode on these.

Sorta understandable that that's a challenge with the color panel. And I have to think they'll figure out a way to eventually do it. But not having it is a deal-breaker for me.
