Looks like a great deal as a desktop replacement, but the reviews say it gets 3 hours of browser usage on battery. Having dealt with Acer's spotty commitment to software updates, I would not hold my breath for that to change.

FYI the 5070 Ti is a 12GB card, not a 16GB as you listed in the description, Op.

For under 2k you're getting a 5070ti in a solid laptop with a good processor and OLED screen. Harder to find than you think.

Take my comment witha grain of salt since it's a test of just 1 unit, but my local bestbuys model has been frozen for at least a week (trying to hype myself to by this exact model) but it's been on a permanent blue error screen and holding down the power button would not shut it down.

Those display models do go through hell, someone could have dumped their soda on it.

From what I hear if you need something very reliable then get a Thinkpad or Elitebook.

This model has a lower watt 5070ti.. just an FYI. I think 125 watts

also reports that screen cannot be downclocked to 60hz while on battery to save battery life, stays at 240hz

Figured I would tag you, but wanted to post in general.

I messed with this at both microcenter and Bestbuy and the build quality feels terrible. Like the screen is so flimsy that even opening from the center had massive flex in the panel because the screen is so weak compared to the hinges tension. Body feels bad as well.

Like I would probably buy this over a MSI but honestly the feel might be worse than most of the MSI's I messed with. Personally I could overlook mediocre quality in a 500 dollar laptop, but not something at 2k I plan to own for years. Would rather have a 5070 with Legion or ASUS or even HP Omen over this.

The short battery life (3 1/4 hours - 4 1/2 hours) is blamed on restrictively high 240hz refresh rate, which doesn't include options to adjust manually or automatically like similar laptops. There's the inability to disable the dedicated GPU too.
Otherwise, it's praised for its good OLED screen, smaller charger, replaceable battery and Linux support. It's only slightly heavier than equally slim gaming laptops like Zephyrus G16 and Blade 16.

I had such high hopes for this laptop. It's just an odd effort. It's made more portable by limiting the TGP of the GPU which should allow for lesser cooling (even though it still runs warm) which reduces weight. Hence the 'S' in Neo 16S. But then they don't let you drop down off of using the 240Hz fresh rate and they don't let you use the iGPU when not gaming, which just wrecks the battery. So if you're using this at home and you're plugged in all the time, you're good and you'll have a great experience. But then why bother with the effort to reduce the weight and make it thinner and more portable? Just makes no sense.

A couple weeks ago you could get a similar 5080 mobile notebook from HP (HP Omen Max 16) for this same price, so yes, but also no. There have been better deals.
