Not a terrible deal, but not sure why one would opt to invest in a switch 1 at this point

yesterday i bought a used OLED switch (TOTK version) for $100 from a 5 star seller on offer up. i went to his house, tested everything to make sure it works and took it home, it was basically brand new.

so yes they are out there you just have to be patient and set up alerts on the used market (ebay, offerup, Facebook market place, etc...) and try to weed out the scammers from the real ones.

I know paying 150 more for the switch 2 might be out of budget for many
But if you really want a value deal, look at facebook marketplace many are selling switch oleds with even a couple of extra games for less than this
Or eBay has some good used OLED's if you don't want to deal with Facebook Marketplace

The switch og is a known quantity. Its been out long enough that there arent compatibility issues with any games or hardware concerns. Noone is getting locked out of there og switch for playing used game and we have plenty of cheaper controllers and other 3rd party devices. There also arent a ton switch 2 exclusives out yet. Its the same reason people kept buying ps4s after the ps5 came out

yeah, weird that people are saying to rush and get it instead of pay $150 more for a current system. I'm tempted to sell my original switch and buy a switch 2, but the original sells for next to nothing.

You cant go back in time but the Costco deal blows this one out of the water at $200
OLED Switch + 1 year Nintendo Online + 256GB Sandisk Official Memory Card + screen protector
Think $300 is the new "sale" price for the OLED model with the true Slickdeals coming in at $250, doubt we ever see this model at or under $250 again until the holidays are over.
Nintendo is feeling the tariff crunch, they dont want to raise the price on the Switch 2 so they are passing the buck on every single other item they sell possible. Why else raise the price on an 8 year old console immediately after the second iteration releases?

Tons of posts on FB marketplace for Switch 1. If you don't mind a used one, lots of options available. Basically people finding no use keeping it once you get a Switch 2.

switch2 not that good as handhold, switch1 already kind of bulky.

It won't lower price unless there's competitor. It's the only option for handhold Nintendo games. Only other option is emulator on android or Linux devices, but not great and need some tech skills.

Sorry about that - I'm asking the Deal Editors to update the thread. The white one from what I can tell appears to be the US version only.
Can totally see a marketplace third party selling the HK version, but Walmart.com? Seems odd. Reviews are all over the place, some mention getting a Japanese version, but a lot were clearly ordered from third-party sellers. We'll see.

Yeah, that's why I didn't look. I saw that it was shipped & sold by Walmart so assumed it was the US variant. Will look next time I post and ty again for mentioning it Smilie

I feel bad for the people who just bought the one on woot with no warranty.

This is still better than the sketchy woot version that had no warranty. At least Walmart means easy returns.

It was highly ymmv, in-store only. Don't feel bad if you missed it, a lot of people did. You can definitely find these on FB marketplace for $150 or less.
