Interesting. For me, I wouldn't consider a laptop without a number pad...

gr8 price, and nice specs. Similar spec with AMD was 100 bucks cheaper just a few months ago, but for Intel haven't seen a deal close to this price.

Tough decision if you're in the market for this caliber of laptop -- this deal or the Zenbook S 16 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 at BestBuy for $999. I certainly like the looks of the Zenbook over this Vivobook but that's just me. 32GB vs 24GB is also a difference, but neither are 16Gb so that's a plus whichever you choose. Both are about the same weight, and the Zenbook uses a 65W charger vs this Vivobook has a 90W. In general, Zenbook has a more solid build over Vivobook.

I tried to like the Zenbook S 14 with the Core Ultra 7 when it went on sale during BF, had to return it. Keyboard and build construction just felt really nice. But the fans were constantly running even for really light tasks and it really pushed out a ton of heat.

Learned a long time ago to never hold onto a laptop on the hopes that future patches will fix things like fan noise. It's possible I got a dud as other review videos I watched didn't report fan issues.

Anyone have this laptop? I know it's not a gaming laptop, but I'm curious to know how the Intel Arc performs with..Fortnite/Marvel Avengers? Primary use of the laptop(s) would be for college/high school, but the occasional Epic game here and there..

I brought up the difference in chargers to show that the Zenbook w/65W needs less power and therefore is more power-efficient. The lower the charger rating, the less power the laptop consumes while in use. In other words, VivoBook needs 90W of power vs Zenbook needs only 65W max.

Curious if you played at all with the fan profiles in the MyAsus app on the Zenbook S 14? I don't have experience with that model, but I currently am using a Zenbook S 16, fully updated, with fan profile on the standard setting (not performance or ultimate) and I don't hear the fans under normal use.

Don't do it.

And yes, they did check serial for electronics when I returned a laptop 2 years ago.

Factually incorrect. A number of mini/quant models would work. Even gpt-oss-20b using cpu/sysram, but slow. Are you going to run gpt-oss-120b? No. Smilie
