Any thoughts on this compared to the Costco deal for the EcoFlow RIVER 3? Besides the power banks, another difference is the 1500w surge boost in the Elite 30 while the RIVER 3 is 1200w.

doesn't seem to have UPS capability, and not expandable compared to the Ecoflow river 3. Otherwise everything else is comparable

The elite 30 v2 has a sub 10milisecond switch time, and specifically states it's for UPS use cases in its product description.

The portable fridges use about 30-60 watts. One of these would be good as a go-between your fridge and car charger since the fridge turns off while your car is off on road trips. Other than small specific use cases like that, the 288Wh is pretty limiting on how long this will run anything.

Keep in mind that this unit, as with all portable power stations, provides VERY limited UPS features. The only thing it will provide is power in the event of a power outage. That's it.

It does not have two way communication to gracefully shutdown the attached device. The only portable power station I'm aware of that has this feature is the the Ecoflow Delta 3 Plus. Even that one has very limited device support and requires fairly technical IT knowledge to get it to work on supported devices.

Another VERY important feature missing in "UPS" capable portable power stations is the ability of the unit to power itself back on once the battery is completely depleted and grid power is restored. This is critical for refrigerators/freezers, network devices or power supplies to security cameras to name a few. If you absolutely need this feature, get a real UPS from companies like APC, Cyberpower, Liebert, etc. Plug the UPS into one of these portable power stations for extended runtimes.

Agreed - I purchased the small EcoFlow from Costco recently for this exact purpose of powering my bougeRV car cooler in between stops as I drive throughout the day for work. It has been good for that as you can both charge the power station with the car and charge the cooler with the station at the same time. A full day however almost completely depletes the battery on a hot day. With that in mind I will be returning this small 2** Wh unit for the larger 1500 Wh unit for more functionality.

And, see if that other one can be used as a UPS, with 10msecond switch over. Which is a main feature use for me. I got the unit, but its my first one, so not sure on a few things. It says I have 999Hours of use..??! Which looks wrong.

That's because you have the unit plugged in to another source of power (grid, solar or external battery). As long as there is an external source supplying more power than your devices are consuming, your unit will run indefinitely. Unplug the external charging cable and the runtime will adjust to a more accurate number.

Also, see my post above if you are using this as a UPS.

I have 4 UPS setups and I have yet to use the feature of self shut down. What good is that use for? I am not saying its useless, but it would be nice that I can use it. I have both APS and CYberpower units, from 1000w to 1500w models. I guess I will be doing a YT setup of UPS, lol. But in general. When power goes out, and if your not home...ya, things just get cut off. Even if you are home...You can just let the system get cut off, as my OS systems (Win10,11) reboot when power is up and resume from last good state. Maybe I am missing something?

One thing they (these Bluetti units) dont have that is good to have is SURGE protection! I have seen spikes and the UPS from APC and Cyberpower handle those well.

If you have a home NAS or other device that is writing data to a disk than you will want the system to shutdown gracefully. If the device you are powering does not know the UPS is about to run out of power it will just abruptly turnoff when the UPS battery is depleted. You will run the risk of data loss or corruption. With APC, Cyberpower you can plug in a USB cable and configure the PC to shutdown gracefully when the UPS is at a specific threshold.

A real UPS will turn itself back on when grid power is restored and the devices plugged in will return to their previous state if they support that. These portable power stations with "UPS" feature will remain off if the battery was depleted before external power is restored. Not a big deal if you are at home or do not have critical devices plugged in to them. However, If you have a refrigerator/freezer and are not able to get to them in a timely manner, it will remain off until you can get them to power them back on. You will have lost all your food. If you have network equipment connected that you use for access to a remote site, you will not be able to access your network until the power station is manually turned back on.

Received similar model (AC50P - 700W - 504Wh) with a 200W solar panel (Bluetti AC50P 504Wh/700W Portable Power Station Solar Generator) for free from SCE electric company as back up for my CPAP. They said to charge it and then unplug and leave it in the closet until needed. It is not a UPS and not to be left plugged in.
