Agree. Bought it once before and was very happy with the deal until my wife didn't like the spicy burnt smell. I found myself only bbqing outside for myself and realized I wouldn't get through the second jar by the best buy date. Eventually donated more than half.

For comparison, when on sale locally in NYC Chinese supermarkets, a comparable brand and size (CJ Brand 500g) usually cost $3.50, HanAsia, CJ, Wang 840-980g around $5 IIRC, all Made in Korea.

UPDATE: mine was shipped from Omaha (warehouse OMA2), expiration date Sep 2026.
