Looks like a peltier cooler? They are lighter and simpler but use a lot more electricity than compressor and don't get nearly as cool. Better than nothing but for a serious trip I'd definitely invest in a compressor type..

Thermoelectric coolers aren't very useful. You really have to prechill them (1-2 hours before) along with the food/drinks before putting items in it. Plus it only lowers the temp maybe 30 to 40 degrees from ambient temp. Avg car will heat up to 115 degrees in the inside with ambient temp of 80 degrees. This ok to keep drinks cool while 2 hour road trip. But then why not get some sealed freezer packs and have better insulation with a traditional cooler.

To others' points- get yourself a compressor cooler. These thermoelectric coolers are a gimmick.

Except when space is tight, and you want to bring drinks with you when you leave the car (beach, hotel room).
16.5" long, 12.5" wide, 17.5" high, the width means it fits between seats.

This one's dirt cheap, I'd be a little afraid of it, but I'm taking a different brand on a 3000 mile road trip; the drinks go with me into the room every night, powered by a 120v transformer, and ready to go at all times.
