Agreed. But I should note the homebase 2 I have constantly drops signal (and it's wired!)

Eufy has been caught pulling all kinds of privacy and security a related shenanigans. Maybe they fixed it after all of the bad press, maybe they didn't, but this isn't a company I would support. I won't even buy charging products from their parent company, Anker.

Solar charging is a total waste of time — here's my honest experience. I tested one of those 4K solar-powered security cameras in the Boston area during July — peak summer sun, direct exposure, no shade. And honestly, it was a complete letdown. Most days, the solar panel didn't charge the camera at all. Instead, I was consistently losing 1–2% of battery per day. I returned the first unit thinking it might've been defective, but the replacement performed exactly the same. Total waste.
For comparison, I also have a Eufy solar wall cam installed in Florida — and even with way more sun year-round, I still end up having to manually charge it once a year, usually around February. So unless you live in the desert or somewhere with strong, consistent sunlight all day long, don't expect solar-powered cameras to be a reliable "set it and forget it" solution.
That said, I do think Eufy makes decent cameras overall — not perfect, but solid. I own several different Eufy models and most of them work just fine. However, their wired Dual Cam Doorbell has its own issues. It tends to overheat during Florida's brutal summer heatwaves when temperatures consistently hit 95°F or higher. When that happens, the device fails, and I have to manually reset and restart it — which is especially annoying if I'm away for a few weeks and can't do it remotely.
Solar charging sounds great in theory, but in practice - it's unreliable.
