*Don't worry LavenderWhatever1234, I still own this via PS2 and can send you proof I'm not a criminal in case you are worried the Italian Mario Copyright police will show up to my house in NC looking for my Retroid Pocket
I don't understand why so many of us haven't thought logically through this.....
P.S. They could have just paid for the rights to use the music again....especially because they are charging full price for an old game. If this was a $10 remaster, I could forgive them but $40-60, naw fam. None of those groups are too big in 2025 for Activision to cheap out on the licensing.
And that is also a good idea regarding the music, just turn down the soundtrack in the options and just have the sound effects turned up. Sourcing the music from elsewhere. However I'll keep playing my PS2 rom via my Steam Deck for free, like I said before, I still have the physical PS2 media so big bro can't say squat. Fair use backup
With bands that have become especially big, getting their publishers to agree to a licensing agreement would have become too challenging, expensive, or restrictive to be worth the cost. Could potentially work with DLC, but I suspect there'd be gamer outrage due to not understanding how difficult seeking licensing agreements is. I'm sure Activision's licensing team has done their due diligence.

I'll keep playing my PS2 roms (which I still own the original PS2 disks) until Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is in a Humble bundle 5 years from now
P.S. Activision isn't exactly known for doing their due diligence or offering the consumer the best bang for their buck (but hey, it is their product, so they get to set terms). If this was another publisher, we probably would not be having this conversation.
Edit: Funny thing is, when other games get a remaster that changes 1/5th of second of cut scene, then the reddit hivemind freaks decrying "cEnSorShIp" and the game gets review bombed, here almost the entire original soundtrack (like 90%) is tossed out, and they don't say a thing. LOL. If this was a CGI butt closeup, perhaps things would be different
