buyer beware: do NOT buy the one "used" unit thats available on Amazon right now. it was likely mine. I purchased it used-like new, when I received it, one of the prongs that goes into the wall was broken off. I returned it same day, and see that there's now a new Used - like new available for sale again. this is probably the same unit.

I've got 4 of these on mowers, ATVs, and a truck that sits for prolonged periods to keep the batteries charge. Even use it to recharge depleted batteries from a solar setup. Works well to maintain batteries over long periods but don't expect it to bring back a fully drained battery.

I bought this about 5 years ago to keep a car battery I wasn't using often alive. Worked great. My only complaint is that I wish the battery lead wires were twice as long. While connecting it to a battery still in the car it's a little too short to reach from any good spot for me, and the unit was left dangling. It worked, but I ended up rigging something for the unit to rest on because I'm not a fan of things hanging from their wires

10+ ??? What for ? These are battery maintainers and not meant for charging. The biggest I have is a 4amp maintainer (dewalt branded) that I have on a large backhoe that has 2 giant batteries. It gets hooked up as soon its parked. Batteries are lasting forever this way.
For charging speed, of course; sometimes you need a dead battery working in a few hours, not days. Even NOCO has a 10A for $80. I don't want just a low-amp charger ("maintainer"), I want a charger.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097D397M6 seems a better deal. It has 10A@12V charging speed, 10X faster. It has 24V charging option, but without 6V. Other charging features are about the same @ $1 less. Am I missing something?

Yeah there's a bunch of cheaper ones but can't trust amazon 5-star reviews, that's why I also asked here, hoping an expert can spare us the time of having to do a deep dive comparing the myriad of chargers out there

I had one of these that just flat out died a few weeks ago. Had used it off and on a handful of times over the last several years, but decided to leave it on my riding mower full-time to keep the battery topped off. I came out a week or so later and it was totally DOA. No lights, no response to button presses - just gone. I have no clue why it died, but prior to this, I had a cheap $20 Shumacher 3A charger/maintainer on that same battery for over five years with no issues. Not sure what all can go wrong with something like this, but it's completely sealed and unserviceable, so I guess it'll just have to toss it.
Very common for nocos to fail quickly

From what I gathered the older ones are good but there's quality issues with newer batches, but this is not hard fact, just based on reviews/opinions I've come across.

Just like my women, I prefer dumb cars.
I prefer the older dumb cars as well but I am not sure this would be effected by either.

fwiw, that one doesn't have a lithium charging cycle if you need it.

Would love a recommendation for a good-value (not necessarily cheap) high-quality charger, ideally 10+ amps.I could do the research but hoping someone in-the-know can save me time, there's so many options. The NOCO's are too often promoted on here (with very mixed reviews) for me to want to buy this. I've had very good luck switching to obscure brands for many of my tools, sadly U.S. brands are hardly a guarantee of quality these days
I have the 10a version and it works well enough. My biggest complaint is the lack of led display with voltage. Also have had 3 of the 3.5a versions, one died after water exposure. I've gone through countless Schumachers.

This works far better than the junk sold by Harbor Freight. I was able to recharge multiple drained batteries due to non-use. The HF model failed.

Purchase history shows I bought this for $19 in 2021 so its a good price just based off inflation since than.

Its useful for summers when out of town and need to keep car battery maintained. Easily worth the price to keep battery from dying.

Clore / Solar is the budget option that isn't hyped like NOCO.

20k people bought this in the past month. What are the odds you are the only one that sent back an open box and now it is being resold?
