The 4 for $9 price ($2.25/each) is the best I've seen; previous sale pricing has been 4 for $10 ($2.50/each).

The sale includes select Downy and Bounce as well.

From the latest test results (which I think was February 2025), the highest scoring Tide Simply variety had a score of 52 (Simply Odor Rescue) and the lowest scoring variety was at 48 (Simply All-in-One). But the lowest scoring detergent to earn CR Recommended status had a score of 76 (coincidentally a Tide variety called Plus Ultra Oxi with Odor Eliminators), while the top scoring detergent overall was also coincidentally a Tide variety (Plus Ultra Stain Release) with a score of 84. The lowest scoring regular Tide variety had a score of 61 (Plus Downey Free), while Tide Original had a score of 64.

Edit - to correct the name of Tide Simply All-in-One.

As others have noted, this stuff looks like a good deal on the price alone but it doesn't perform like regular vareties of Tide. We're probably better off buying regular Tide when it goes on sale and just using a little less of it than buying this stuff and either getting clothes that are less clean or having to use more (and waste water rinsing more to effectively get it out of the clothes).

Probably the reason this stuff is cheaper than regular Tide varities is that it is not only less concentrated, but has fewer enzymes—a primary active cleaning agent in most laundry detergents. Some varieties of Tide Simply—like Simply Free & Sensitive, Simply Clean & Sensitive, and the various fragrances of Simply All-in-One—actually have no enzymes at all.
