Call your local costco and press the administration dept. (usually one on the verbal menu)and give that person the item number of your product on the costco page. They can tell you the price and quantity of the item in that warehouse. If they have no inventory you can ask if another local costco would have it. They can look that up too. Hope that helps.

Get this one.It is an inverter it will run on LOW.You won't hear it.It's NOT like the old school 1 speed units (on or off)...It ramps up or down based on need.I've been renovating a 2100 square ft investment House in FL.Has been running for 4+ months straight at 74 degrees so that Central AC unit and ducts don't get dirty.Looking to get another for Hurricane backup.
The concern with this is that for small rooms, 'oversized' inverter units generally won't dehumidify as well because the (interior) evap coils won't get as cold.

can you elaborate on this? we had one of these in the bedroom and had problems with it staying damp and water inside the unit eventually growing mold. we were able to get it refunded with the recent recall, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the recall that caused the issue.

we ended up getting a new unit but are having the same issue so we're obviously doing something wrong here. anybody else having moisture issues? we tried to mitigate it by running it on fan mode for an hour every day, but so far still having issues.

the thing is we only use it at night in the bedroom, so for 2/3 of the day it isn't running. other than like, pointing a fan at it to air dry it, what else can we do? we love the unit, and want to get yet another for a different room, but not if it's gonna keep doing this. that room will be on even less than the bedroom so maybe we should just grab a non-inverter?

Make sure it's tilted with a pretty strong bias toward the outside. These post-recall units include a drain plug, which you could try removing to let water drain completely. This might affect the efficiency of the unit somewhat (they're designed to retain some water to splash on the condenser fins outside to help improve cooling), but who cares about that if you're experiencing lingering moisture & potential mold problems as a result?

My older unit doesn't even have a drain hole, hence why the 'repair' option for some units involves sending out a tech to drill a hole (it's very easy to accidentally hit something critical).

Sometimes moisture retention & mold is just a fact of life for window ACs used in very humid areas like the southeast US.

Can I do that after 30 days?
They told us no. We had bought two units, one within 90days, the other within 30days. They adjusted the price for the more recent unit only.

My local Sam's Club had the 12k unit yellow tagged for $299 with $50 additional savings = $249. Their model doesn't have the marginally effective 'Mshield' ionizer feature that I don't need because at the seasonal location where this will be used we keep the windows open unless it's sweltering. The Costco stores in the Mpls/St Paul metro are still at $389 in store.
Thanks for the Sam's info. I called the Maplewood and Eagan Costco stores today to check inventory. They both had the item, but still at regular $369.99 price. Maplewood had 71 units, so maybe they'll drop the price at some point. If anyone sees them at Costco in the Twin Cities at $250, Please post--thnx.

Called Costo in Georgetown, TX, and they said $369.99, so it may not be everywhere.
That's correct and you could have saved yourself a call by checking the Costco app (see attached images).

It should also be common knowledge that most Costco B&M deals are YMMV as indicated by the Deal Type > Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV) and mentioned in the OP:

Worth mentioning all three I purchased from Amazon have been recalled for not draining water correctly and mold build up. Full refund
I was considering this. bought a refurb 8k and a refurbished 12k unit. supposedly only the 8k was recalled. they accidentally sent me two 12k so my serial number probably doesn't match.

CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER IN STORE BEFORE PURCHASING!
I purchased two 12,000 BTU units for $250 each yesterday at Costco. To play it safe, I used my cell phone to check the model and serial number at the Midea Recall website https://mideaurecall.expertinquiry.com/?lang=en . The model number is MAW12AV1QWT-C and it appears on the Recall List, HOWEVER, if you also input the serial number located on the outside of the box, you'll get specifics on that unit. The two units I purchased state they are "reworked". They have the plugs on the bottom of the units. BUT BE CAREFUL! Two of the five boxes I checked came back as still being recalled! I pointed this out to a sales rep. He replied that they may be units that customers returned to the store and were placed on the floor among the units recently delivered. I asked him to point out to the manager that Costco is selling units that are on the recall list. Yeah, I'm sure he got right on that. Caveat emptor. CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER BEFORE PURCHASE.
