I purchased two 12,000 BTU units for $250 each yesterday at Costco. To play it safe, I used my cell phone to check the model and serial number at the Midea Recall website https://mideaurecall.ex
I knew about the recall but the advice from Poorerman should be on the top of op's info so someone does not get HIT with a recalled unit. My model number is part of the recall - MAW12AV1QWT-C - BUT YOU MUST CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER!
