does anyone know specifically what kind of USB C cable this uses? We have one, my son can't find a cord, and it doesn't seem like any of my other USB C cables want to work.

Or i just buy another one...

Got one from the Woot sale. Only consideration is that this has more lag on the USB-A port than a bigger sized port splitter (for example for a mouse or keyboard). If you want it for Switch use it's fine

Hey all,Have people been able to get these to work? I bought the 67W version the last time this went FP and wasn't ever able to get it to work. Couple of disclaimers: I tried using it when traveling in London and couldn't get it to work. I then tried it back home but running the hdmi signal into my onkyo receiver. Both times couldn't get the screen to show the switch (but the switch screen would go black when plugged in like it was broadcasting the screen).So genuinely interested if others have had success? Thanks in advance!

It is essentially a USB C in HDMI out converter. If the device can do Video over USB C and you want to connect it to a TV over HDMI, it has been very useful and convenient to pack. it is the same size as a 3 port wall charger and has 2 USB ports for charging (though the USB A port is slow) even if you don't use the HDMI on the trip.

The cable that comes with these are pretty short, especially if you want to use it for your laptop. Wait for a good sale on a 10 foot monitor cable, I think I got one for $4 or $5 a couple months ago

I have the 65w. Tested it myself and can confirm it works with the Steam deck. I thought it was worth $25 months ago so it's a steal to me at this price. Figure they're going out of stock soon with them being incompatible with Switch 2, so I'd only hold out for a new version if you wanted it for that as well.
