Just got this done at Costco. On One military plan and traded in an XS that is used by the kids to play games. Waived activation and $100 gc makes this worthwhile.

Wait till they offer the free earbuds after the release date with the same TIV for a better deal.

Dude you only get $400 for that phone. What are you doing? Just sell that phone locally and then buy an S10e they're like $100 on eBay. I paid $85 for mine and get $800 bones and I'll sell my 9XL locally for $600

Will T-Mobile accept an unlocked phone that was originally on Verizon for the full promo value at trade-in?
as long as the phone meet the trade in requirement, it should quality, regardless where the phone originally from.

So many comments and questions.

If you have a Costco membership, DEFINITELY work this deal by calling the T-Mobile Costco number: 833-428-1765
You will save the $35 activation/connection fee + get a Costco Cash card. I have done the upgrade through this number 5 times and they've been gone through smoothly all 5 times. I got $630 total in monthly credits on an iPhone 16 Pro Max purchase, 3 Motorola Edge 2024s (by trading in older phones that I got for free), and $500 total in monthly credits for a Motorola Razr 2024. I shipped all the trade-in phones back. They are confirmed as received within 2 days of the tracking number showing "delivered".

Pro tip: Take a video of the phone you're shipping for trade-in. Showing that it powers up, and navigate to the IMEI screen to prove it has the same IMEI as what's you gave them over the phone. Once T-Mobile sends you the text that they received your trade-in, you can delete the video.

If you have a Pixel 8 or above, you should be buying a Samsung Galaxy S10 or S10e (around $100-125 on eBay or Swappa) for trade-in instead of trading in your Pixel. The Pixel 8 can be sold for ~$200 and Pixel 9 is more. Trading in anything that can be sold for $200 or more is leaving money on the table. I saw a commenter saying he traded in multiple Pixel 9s and that made my head hurt. If you're already on Pixel 9, you really don't have much of a reason to spend ~$100 (taxes on this deal) to upgrade, unless you really want the TSM manufactured Tensor G5.

The Pixel 10 purchased through this deal will be LOCKED to T-Mobile. The phone needs to be paid off to be unlocked. Paying off the balance of the EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) will forfeit the monthly credit. HOWEVER, T-Mobile has free texting and free (slow) data for many countries, and you can also request that the phone be temporarily unlocked for your trip.

This is NOT necessarily a good deal for folks looking to switch to T-Mobile, but is definitely a good deal for those of us on an older T-Mobile plan such as Simple Choice, Magenta, etc. For example, I'm on Simple Choice, with 9 lines and a 5G Home Internet service, and I'm paying about $205/month. I am not leaving T-Mobile anytime soon. Even if they start charging me $5 more per line, my plan is still cheaper than any other carrier, including the MVNOs.
I actually already did the upgrade via online T-mobile a few days ago, then saw this post about Costco.
I was able to call T-mobile Costco phone and they were able to cancel the prior online upgrade relative easily, then re-do upgrade over the phone with Costco.
As post stated, $0 activation fee and also got $100 Costco Shop card after 90 day and trade in deal is the same as online.
Phone prep explain all the cost and credit very well.
Anyone has Costco membership, should definitely go through the T-mobile Costco phone line.

I'm on Simple Choice plan.

So, I just upgraded my line through costco. A gift card wasn't mentioned. I then called back and asked about it and they said there would be no giftcard. So is there something I'm missing? Did I not qualify because It was a line upgrade instead of port in?

So i called tmobile back and the women i talked to didn't know what she was talking about.

I called again, and got the women I initially talked to luckily and she gave me the information I needed about the giftcard.
So, $100 for line upgrade. Right?

per the deal details, any plan where you're paying 60+dollars monthly and you have Auto pay enabled.
Mint has an unlimited plan for $15 a month (12 month). So you are paying $45 extra per month for a comparable service. Over 24 months, the extra adds up to >$1,000. It's not a free phone.
Yes, but you don't get free Inflight wifi, free Apple TV+ and free Hulu,Netflix, plus all the other benefits with the Mint plan. Depends on your scenario, if you would otherwise be paying for those services like a lot of people, you actually end up with a better deal.

for folks purchasing S10e over ebay for trade-in : do you wait for phone to arrive for IMEI before calling Costco? I am just concerned the promo might end before my phone arrives

this is what I did - gonna sell my s24 ultra and then trade in my dad's s24 when the s26 ultra launches 😂 bought two s10e from Amazon for $130 each, $200 from Costco and a pixel pro XL and pixel for $20 more a month.. and threatened to go to Google Fi so I got my 3 lines for 100 simple plan back and $100 credit 😂
