This agrees exactly with what oldNbroke noticed - without putting in Metro SIM card but a Tmobile one, it got provisioned as a Tmobile phone including all Tmobile branding right down to the screens.
I would have bet that if oldNbroke never put in the Metro SIM, this phone would have continued to work on Tmobile. The only potential challenge would have been putting in a non-Tmobile SIM later.
The reason why I said "I would have bet" is because lou2004 provided a contradicting datapoint where without putting in Metro SIM card but a Tmobile one, it did not get provisioned as a Tmobile phone successfully.
I would still encourage others who took part in this to plug in a Tmobile SIM first and share datapoint heres. I will as soon as I get mine next week.
If you want to use it with Tmobile then don't put Metro Sim first, even Metro Sim didn't work on my unlocked Oneplus 6T phone either.. Probably need to wait for whatever it takes to unlock later on...

I put Metro Sim first, activated the phone and then later tried with T-Mobile sim which was errored out.

Metro sim is tied to IMEI you have change device on MetroApp with OnePlus IMEI then factory reset the Stylus to use the t-mobile sim

It took one IMEI but I've it is under payment plan with Tmobile, which I do not want to take RISK there :-)

Technically, if you keep your phone sealed and stored in locker and open it after 365 days, it will be unlocked. I know for a fact because many posters did the same thing when the unlocking period was 180 days.
So don't insert the Metro SIM at all and start using T-Mobile from the day you receive it, and it will unlock after 365 days.

That is right! The moment you put in a Metro Sim, the phone will get provisioned with the Metro configuration that locks the phone.

Motorola giving 2 system updates and 3 years of security updates is pretty good at these budget price range. Sure it isn't Samsung or Google length of updates but it is definitely improved for Motorola. A FREE phone with a $65 plan with 3 years of security updates is fine.
Plus people are upgrading their phones after like 1-2 years nowadays. As good as Samsung and Google which I have, I can't see myself using a phone for 5 years straight. Battery wear and just bored of the phone and wanting to try something different would make me switch after like 2-3 years.
Don't have interest in magsafe stands or holders but a little bit in magsafe wallet and magsafe slim charger.

Good news: I was able to swap my phone successfully on Metro's website to my old phone, and it is working.
Bad news: Moto Stylus is not accepting a T-Mobile SIM card after a factory reset. I really appreciate the expert's suggestion on making a T-Mobile SIM on the Moto from Metro.
