The second snapshot is after about 11 hours of downloading. So this gives actually speeds I get and temps. I have fan pointing directly into the drive to keep temps down.
Drive was never taken out of enclosure, unboxed it, plugged it in, and let it rip.
When I get done downloading the 10 TB, I will unplug it, put it back in box it came in and put in closet/drawer. Simple ... and should only have about 14-16 hours on it or less.
Better off going with an external drive like this one?
For extra security for those memories you want to keep forever, backup onto a second computer or into the cloud.

I don't know how much emulation space you need. I TB, 5TB, 10 TB, and how much space do you actively use. I have lots of games, but only put 1-5tb stuff on 5 TB portable WD drive, it doesn't need power plug, ... WD drive is mech drive ... I have a number of NVMe externals that are much, much faster . 500 MB/s or 1,000 MB/s. And this seagate is 225 MB/s. And the WD portables are 110 MB/s.
srb122, just post link I can look at where it says these are SMR drives.
You can share the drive on your home network, or use an OTP adapter for your phone I believe (at least on Android).
If you have the latest Android, you should have the USB 3.1 "C" connection. If your Android is older, then it should be the USB 3.0 connection, see pics attached.

... a lot of people still think a 26TB hard drive as 26TB of usable space but only has 23 TB of usuable space ... so 2 of these 26 TB seagates only have 46TB of usable space ...so that is why I answered the way I did. So fuzzy math.
