100% polyester is literally a requirement for this kind of shirts. You don't want to hike covered in a wet rag normally.

You must be buying the wrong stuff. I've been getting these quick dry 100% polyester shirts in several different brands for full time travel overseas and all of them feel soft. Probably have bought 50+ of them in 12 years. None feel "like a plastic bag" which is just nonsense. They dry quickly after washing in a hotel room or after rain, wick moisture from your body, and are much thinner than cotton which is one of the worst materials for this use.

exactly, dries quickly and is lighter in weight than cotton.

following up on the price, this is probably decent for them. I paid $10 for a single shirt: personally would not want to buy a 2 pack with fixed colors unless price is lower than $10 ea.
