That being said, I ordered a pair just to see how they feel. Reviews also say the insoles are trash, so I'm not optimistic.

I have invader steel toe pair in brown - quite comfy, use them for work and wear every other day for last two years. Soles will last forever, inner liner only shows little wear. I also have this Threshold in black - purchased also 2 years ago. Use for work and riding my motorcycle. Its the most comfortable from these. This is why I came here when noticed this deal. In for brown pair. Too good to pass.
These actually fit me well and protect my feet extremely well when cutting trees and branches. My only two complaints about the Brahma Boots from Walmart are:
1. The laces fray quicker (while still holding) than I would like and high quality laces seem to cost $10, which is almost half the price of the boots on sale
2. The soles start breaking out into little chunks after a year (or about 3 months of regular daily use). IF I was working on a roof or climbing rocks, I would worry but for my case, this hasn't been a problem.
because these are cheap boots, I abuse them a lot and never clean/shine/condition them - they have been holding strong against rain, mud and an occasional branch falling on it or my feet getting into a gopher hole.
I had not expected them to last at all but they are actually holding. Except the above two annoyances, there's no other failure. I almost want to abuse them more just to see how much more they can take. I purchased 4 sets when I had found them on sale for $15 and it's likely those will either last me a decade or disintegrate in storage.
Anyone else has used Men's Brahma Boots?
I wonder if I could spray some kind of a protective coating on the laces?
