We just use baking powder and it seems to do just fine, much cheaper.

These are fantastic they definitely make a difference in the buildup of the scum. The washing machine drum is noticeably cleaner and I've seen videos of the inside before / after using these and they really help. I like to run one of these every month especially after washing something like rags or floor mats.

baking soda, dab of dish soap, dash of vinegar work well. after that boiling water to clean it up. works well for us. might need to do this weekly if you put alot of food down the disposal.

Why does everyone think baking soda and vinegar together are the ultimate cleaning combo? The fizzing might agitate some things out of the way, sure, but neutralizing the base/acid really severely weakens its disinfecting or mineral removing properties.

thats the goal to agitate things out of the way. the boiling water should help break down any loose gunk. disinfecting a garbage disposal is next to impossible.

I bought a bunch of these in the past and agree they seem to do nothing. The Tide powder packets have been the only ones that seem to help (in my experience)
