Here's a review for everyone to check out. Seems like the high price was its' main problem: https://youtu.be/6ZGrgOY4CO0

retired the W520 last year. I would have still used it, but some issues with the power switch (tried multiple keyboards) prevented me from using it as a daily driver (it feels bulky compared to today's laptops).

Super duper tempting. Lenovo slaps decent displays on this line. Always preferred the key travel on the X1 series over what we see on Macs and chiclets in general. Stopped using my Alder Lake X1 thanks to the fan noise and throttling being so damn egregious. If I could just change one thing on this series, it's the trackpad buttons, rather they just got rid of them and expanded the touchpad surface area instead. Would totally buy the Z13 or Z16 if they'd refresh that series for this reason.

Every year it feels like Lenovo quality is going down. I can say this as a die hard Thinkpad fan that since my first X220, each generation degraded quality and i would not recommend spending over 1k for a thinkpad. Honestly Apple got the quality feel department unbeatable. I would wait for T14 or the latest replacement models to go on sale and grt one for 600-700 maybe 800 due tariffs. They even messed with docking connections.

My work gave me a T16 and I was pretty disappointed in it after hearing about how good Thinkpads are.

The fingerprint sensor didn't work on the first boot until 3 months later when a new firmware update was installed. And if I type too fast the laptop beeps at me.

Also, anyone else find the mouse nub pretty useless when the trackoad is perfectly fine?

People who like the nub, use it. People that dont, dont. Most people dont use both. Its a personal preference that IBM/Lenovo offered as a choice for decades.
