Best Buy has the self propelled version for $100 more that's probably a better deal

Does the push mower have more power to cut than the Self propelled mower?

I have had the push version for around seven years now. Not hard to push the damn thing. Mulches like crap though due to the mower trying to save energy and run at two different speeds that you cannot select. It increases power when the mower detects thick grass, which is stupid. Should be able to select the higher speed as with the newer higher AH batteries last forever in this mower anyway.

Lots of comments to get a self propelled versions, but to be honest I got 2 kobalt electric mowers (greenworks makes them) and both are self propelled but I pretty much never use that feature. Electric mowers are so light, probably 1/2 the weight of a gas mower, so it's so easy to push. By not using the self propelled feature I get extended battery life and more of a "workout." plus I can control the pace and slow down for thicker grass and speed up for thinner grass. All my local Walmarts has the hart and greenworks mowers on clearance so you might find better deals there and their blades/fertilizer/weed and feed were on clearance well.

Friends don't let friends buy electric push mowers. Try & go for self-propelled.

Does anyone know the torque on this? I've only used gas mowers so far, and in my looking toward a switch to electric, torque vs even a basic gas mower often seems to be much lower for low end models (eg, my gas is at 7.4 ft-lbs and I've seen plenty electric <5-6).

The downvotes on self-propelled are interesting. Some people need them. I have a self-propelled gas mower and it wasn't fun cutting over 10,000 sq ft of a yard that's not flat in the heat and humidity. Especially if you are older.

What is the better deal, this 80v with a 4.0ah battery or the 40v with 5.0.ah better from Walmart for $198. I am new to this, but I did get the 80v blower from Greenworks with 4.0ah and 2.5ah battery for $125 from another deal.

I suggest sticking with the voltage that you already have, unless you have a clear reason for switching. Being able to interchange the batteries gives you versatility, but also it's how they "get you" to be locked into a particular system/brand.

it depends on your needs. the 40v is obviously not going to be as powerful so if you are going to have a large lawn and deal with wet grass and stuff you would want the 80v. if you just have a small yard and dont need to mow a lot tou could even get the small 14 inch version for 137 right now 40v
