I do the same thing, put one last order in before my membership expires then the next time I need to place an order I just go find one of the discounts.

I have used different emails to sign up for Sams before. This time I used the + email trick but not for the same email on the most recent Sams Club account. I did use my real name with no changes, but used a different phone # and CC#. I'm guessing they must have someone reviewing these or some system that flags some for manual review possibly and either my name, address or the fact that I used + variation of an email I had used previously made them cancel my order.

My membership expired a year ago, so I should be eligible according to the terms, but another user reported account getting clawed back even his/her previous membership has expired 2.5 years ago.
Got my $35 Sams cash. Signed up with different Email, Phone, and used Middle Name. Site said you look familiar, clicked on no. Signed up Wednesday night other membership had just expired about 12 days ago.
Hopefully, your account won't be clawed back a few days later like the other users reported.
