Guess where those 3d printers came from? Guess where the print material came from?
3d printing is extremely inefficient and very costly.
"no lag time". There is ZERO lag time if you already have the inventory. You will have lag time if you run on zero inventory, as you would need to print it AFTER receiving the order.
If it's so easy, why can't a simple scrubber be made in the US?
It starts somewhere. If other US companies could do this, demand opens for industrial 3d printers domestically produced, and the supply chain follows. The reverse works too and that's why everything is in china now.

If it was that inefficient I'm sure they wouldn't have done it. There's always lag time when you're dependent on overseas manufacturing because now you have to deal with logistics and warehousing (I used to own a auto parts warehouse so I dealt with this all the time).

The reason the scrubbers aren't made here is because there are no more domestic manufacturers anymore--china wiped them all out by undercutting prices and then jacking them back up after the competition was eliminated. If there was any domestic injection molding and materials left in the US in quantity, there would be ample competition, but there isn't because china wiped it out. It's happened in every industry and it continues to happen. And it's driven by leaders who sell out their country and consumers that do the same with short-sighted decisions.

I'm just hopeful for a charging product that won't repeatedly fall out of the weird outlets on the airplane.
I have the same problem and someone online suggested using a UK grounded adapter as it will plug in firmly.

Last Baseus product I received I had to trash because of a fire hazard recall. Not trying that again.
And the worst part about that is what if there weren't enough problems for there to be a recall? EEK! You would be like the guy in this thread who's car burned to the ground.

Why TF is it so difficult to include charging specs in product detail? Grr.. gotta dig just to figure out if it will even support the devices/voltages I need it to

Looks a little out of place to say it supports up to 2500W on a 70W charger - I get that's the AC part, but there's zero detail in the post on what non-AC charging specs are supported. Is it 70W total MAX? Can I charge two devices at 70W simultaneously? Will it power my random 12V so I can skip packing that extra charger? What's the max wattage draw on the UBA ports with/without the USB C and/or retractable cable in use? Plugging in a ton of devices doesn't do me any good if power isn't managed well...

Oh yeah, might want to include a warning that plugging into 240V doesn't reduce voltage for 120V devices and you could fry those

Agreed that it is very confusing. How I interpret it is the retractable USB C is 70W capable on its own. This is helpful if you want to use it to charge a laptop opposed to something like a cell phone which requires much less wattage. When you add up the total wattage supported by every single plug you get max values of 1250W at 125V and 2500W at 250V.

Attached is a clear picture of the back of the unit I found on Amazon reviews which does a better job explaining the specs.

Scroll to the product description section located midway down the page. Under the retractable cable picture, click on 'Single-Port Output', 'Two-Port Output', etc., to view the output specs for each USB port.

Review photos do not show a valid NRTL compliance marking (UL/ETL/TUV). They claim in their description to be UL so the device should bear marking to that effect. Can someone who owns this take a look for compliance marking (not CE). Thanks.

Edit to add a reviewers photo.

Even if markings are shown that doesn't mean there's actual compliance. If you really, really want to know--check with the compliance companies that issue the mark.

Please stop making retractable cables for everything! If it breaks, you're SOL!
Agreed! This is why I don't buy cars with fuel injection. It's carburetors and manual chokes for me, baby.

Your question is answered clearly on this part of the package:
The total max ouput is 70W, with different combinations of USB-c and USB-As deliver different power.

Don't buy it. You'll be alright.
Exactly...I love products with included cables that retract or insert into the product. I grab one thing and go. I don;'t have to worry about forgetting the cable, finding the cable that i packed, etc....

Not opposed to having additional ports you could use....but that would add cost.

These types of products have a market....even if the original commentator is not one.

(Oh and it looks like this product does support using your own cables as well.....even more of a baseless rant by the poster...)

I've read through a lot of the contentious comments here. It's kind of exhausting for someone who's not deep into this stuff. What I need is kind of the highest-quality conversion adapter, one that is fairly lightweight and not real bulky, at least one AC, at least two USB-C. I won't say the price is no object, but I'm not afraid to spend for something that has these qualities and features.
Can anyone give me a link for something quality that is *bombproof, lightweight, and at least 70W* total… I don't need real fast charge. Thanks.

I'm going to Spain in 2 weeks. how do these universal plugs work with different voltages and other countries? well I fry my laptop if I plug these universals into the outlet and plug my cell phone into this adapter? thank you
They're fine? I mean travel adapters with USB ports aren't anything new. I have 2 (not this brand) and they work fine in both 230V UK voltages, as well as down to 100V Japan voltages. If you're just using the built in USB stuff, that's doing all the conversion for PD for you.

Note that you should look at HOW the power is distributed across the ports. especially if you intend to use a lot of the ports simultaneously. For this device if you use all the ports the power is distributed

* retractable usb-c : 40W
* USB-A + USB C : shares 15W
* USB-A : 5W

So while you can fast charge a phone on the retractable usb-c, you'll be sharing 20W across the other 3 ports.If you're ok with that then that's fine. Maybe you don't care about fast charging as you'll be charging stuff overnight. If you need this to power a lapotp and charge devices, then this may not be the best choice as you might want to look into a 100W or higher version

Note that's generally not because of the device, but because of the 2 prong system used in the USA. This is compounded by the fact that weight of these kinds of devices tends ot be bottom heavy. Meaning that given the 2 prong outlets are already loose to begin with, the weight distribution, the flat prong, means the device can more easily slide out fo the socket.

Using the UK plug, because its 3 prongs, has a better anchor point into the outlet so it resists things like being pulled up or down due to the 3rd prong.

The Australia version of the 2 prong tends to stay in better because the prongs are angled which provides better anchoring to the kinds of ways these devices tend to be plugged in. Heck even using the EU 2 prong is better because they're round and go straight in, so they also resist the sort of torsion slippage

Basically if you use any of the other plugs on your travel adapter its likely to stay in better than the US plug
