The new app is killing rep points

This community thrives on poster reputation. The old app had a nice big "Give Thanks" button at the bottom of each deal. Tap it once, tap confirm, and you're done. Now, you need to expand user profile at the end of the post, tap "Give Rep", add a comment, and only then confirm. Just who would have thought it would be a good idea?

You're right, giving reps does require more effort in the new app. The team has plans to fix this issue and make it more like the old app rep experience by adding a rep button directly on the deal. We don't have an estimated release date to share at this time, but that change is coming in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Please let us know if you have any additional feedback about the new app, or anything else.

Getting rep points died for me YEARS ago. Occasionally, I still get repped, mostly from those who've been on this site as long (or longer) than me. But most of my deals, even Front Page ones, get no reps. And it's been like that for years.

EDIT: Reacting to a reply (TU, TD, bulb, LOL emoji) must've replaced repping. I still use the Classic UI, so I don't have access to that feature. It would make sense to add rep points when people positively react to a reply (but I haven't given it much thought and can't know the pros and cons from the backend, site design and/or community engagement standpoint).

Echoing all of the above. I'm not a high volume contributor, but my last +rep is from December 2024 which seems excessive.
