all of the specs are effectively the same until you get to the os updates. the edge+ is only getting 3 updates from 2023. and the s25fe will have android 23/ one ui 15. different world over there.
the chip is also better on the s25fe. only downside here is the storage.

this is the edge+ final year of os update. it is already eol

Do you have any data points to support this?

The way SmileShots did was to activate with an inactive T-Mobile SIM first, verify everything work with an active T-Mobile SIM, then activate online with Metro. I believe this should satisfy Metro requirement and the phone should unlock since it is server-based. Once the IMEI is added to the server, the phone should be given the "green light" to unlock. We will need to wait a year to confirm one way or another. But your post seems very confident.
I had first hand experience. A metro phone activated with TM sim, worked fine but stay locked. A year later, I bought another metro phone, swap device to the first phone. That's the first time this phone touched the metro sim it came with. 6mo later, unlocked. It was 6mo unlock back then.
That honestly may be true especially if the phone has never touched a metro sim since it never got registered. But I will report back in a future thread 1 yr from now with my experience since the phones I got to work with Tmo actually have metro's esim on there working too (before being deactivated/removed). Ran speedtests, sent text, and made phone calls with both on the tmobile sim and metro sim (had to activate it to access the account due to pin being sent through SMS).

Other than that, I do have about 5 or so Tab A9+ that I got from Metro for gifts that I activated with Tmobile's sim first to activate it with Tmobile's software before putting in the Metro sim to "activate" it and they all worked with tmobile's sim data from day 1 and unlocked on the 181st day without an issue. But that is a different device altogether with a different type of sim procedure.

Appreciate the report. It looks like it happened 2 years ago. A lot of changes has happened since then. If I remember correctly, back then, not all phones are unlocked automatically, specifically androids. Now, I haven't seen a report that states android phones are not unlocked automatically.

But nevertheless, it is a risk that everyone should be aware of. The phone might not unlock if activated with T-Mobile first and Metro second. By the way, did you ever activate your first Metro phone online with Metro after activated with T-Mobile SIM?

True that things change constantly. I used to buy metro phones and wait for 6mo. Now 1y is too long to wait.

Metro phones will auto activate even if you don't activate online. I don't remember if I activated or it auto activated.

What happens if we activate with an active T-Mobile physical sim instead of an inactive sim? Will it lock to metro then?

It doesn't matter you activate with active/inactive T-Mobile sim. It will still locked to Metro. What they are trying to do is to see if the phone can be used on T-Mobile without unlock first.

I am trying to use on T-Mobile too. Someone was saying it may lock to metro/ install metro softwares when using a active T-Mobile sim. So the question.

Did you disable esim only afteryou activated metro? Or you can activate after disabling esim?

My metro esim was activated on 9th, and it was turned off till today. I actually tried the Tmobile simcard the day I received the phone and commented on here that it didn't work. I was surprised that it worked today. I also have the Moto G stylus that worked before activation, but it didn't work after I activated the line.

So I got my phone. The next step is just disable autorenew and wait for the current plan to expire? Then register for the $25/month plan and pop in the sim? Did I miss anything else or that's it. Want to make sure I dont get the device fee clawed back via CC charge.
renew is off by default, the CC used to buy the phone doesn't save for renew.

2months to release the phone, 1month active, 1month suspend. if want to giveaway the free service, i can give eSIM IMEI to swap release. can't swap if suspended.

i think they didn't give me pSIM option when i sign up for the $25 plan.

so I was testing the Tmobile simcard on the Moto Stylus again because it worked before. I only have 1 T mobile simcard , putting it back stopped working. I'll try playing with the S25FE to see if I can get it working.

ok, after a few hours of messing with S25FE and T mobile Sim card, I finally got it to work again. I know some of you probably don't believe me. see my screenshot, I blurred my numbers but you can see the 5G with Tmobile sim on and Metro off, no wifi... I also tested internet on youtube and message worked as well.

Thanks for your reply. They are both A54, they are unlocked (but using metro account), yes they have active esims. Is there a difefrent way to get a number besides Infimobile?
Great answer by CyanWing and thank you for sharing your datapoint - that's how we make slickdeals better.

If CyanWing's doesn't work and Infimobile is an issue, there are 2 things you can do:

1. Try visible esim offer $25 - $9 promo code
2. Wait for me to jump in on this deal that I plan to parlay with https://slickdeals.net/f/18384034-512gb-motorola-edge-2023-smartphone-1-month-service-boost-mobile-locked-119-99-free-shipping but it could be a few days

Good luck to everyone on this thread and keep the datapoints flowing in
What's the $9 promo code for Visible?
