all of the specs are effectively the same until you get to the os updates. the edge+ is only getting 3 updates from 2023. and the s25fe will have android 23/ one ui 15. different world over there.
the chip is also better on the s25fe. only downside here is the storage.

this is the edge+ final year of os update. it is already eol

It worked until 7 pm today.. I don't know if it's because I went to an area with no reception that's causing it.

so wait this phone unlocks one year automatically and only requires one year of service with it to get this price? Also I was asking if another T-Mobile network would work that's why I was asking about mint.
Most Phones from Metro will only work on T-Mobile and not other mvno.

Some observations from my new S25FE playing with an inactive T-Mobile SIM card.
  1. Without turning the phone on, inserted an inactive T-Mobile SIM card.
  2. Turned the phone on and let it sit for about 20 minutes, allowing the SIM to do its thing. (I put the phone in an unplugged microwave to block any potential connection from Metro, but it might not be necessary.)
  3. Phone asked to restart to switch service. I restarted the phone.
  4. T-Mobile splash screen now appeared at boot.
NOTE: phone not connected to Wi-Fi and Metro eSIM is not activated on Metro website yet.
  5. Skipped all the setup and arrived at home screen. No Metro eSIM push observed.
  6. Check the APN and it's fast. t-mobile .com. Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names.
  7. Removed T-Mobile SIM card and restarted. APN is still fast. t-mobile .com.
  8. Activated Metro eSIM and connected to Wi-Fi.
  9. Metro pushed eSIM to phone and it got installed.
  10. Phone asked to restart to switch service. I restarted the phone.
  11. Metro splash screen now appeared at boot.
  12. Check the APN and it's fast. metropcs .com
  13. Disabled Metro eSIM, turned on airplane mode, inserted the T-Mobile SIM, and turned off airplane mode.
  14. Phone asked to restart to switch service. I restarted.
  15. T-Mobile splash screen now appeared at boot.
  16. Check the APN and it's fast. t-mobile .com
  17. For Network operators setting, I left it as Select automatically.
Based on these observations and a few reports here, I have a high degree of confidence that this phone will work with T-Mobile SIM on day 1. Having 2 active SIMs in the phone might cause some issues of switching network. I recommend to have only 1 active SIM (Metro or T-Mobile) in the phone. You can disable Metro eSIM while using T-Mobile SIM card. I saw that having dual SIMs from Metro and T-Mobile still work. But I also read that it causes issue intermittently. Too bad I don't have an active T-Mobile SIM to play around with. I dropped T-Mobile a while ago.

Edited to add that a few reports stating that phone no longer registers with T-Mobile network after provisioning the phone locally with a T-Mobile SIM.

Excellent deal even if you can't use it much for a year. Should have good trade in value later on too.
Yup. Just used my s20 fe as a $800 trade in as these FE phones are treated the same as other s lines.

How long are we allowed to wait to activate the phone? 30 days?

For some reason, it did not auto activate after 14 days.

Note that this phone and the Samsung A36, A15 are able to work on T-Mobiles satellite connection. I have the Metro Samsung A36 and now have coverage anywhere in the US and Puerto Rico with world wide coming later. Amazing tech. My test was in the boonies of our Sierras here in N Cal and when out of cell coverage it's automatically switched to satellite. I quickly got a text confirmation that I was connected to satellite. I get text, picture message and data is coming soon they told me. Here's a list of phones and one does NOT have to have a T-Mo plan. iPhones down to the iPhone 13 are included. http://www.t-mobile.com/support/c...t#eligible

Some questions so that I have a better understanding.

Did you activate Metro and install its eSIM PRIOR to inserting T-Mobile SIM?

What's the current APN?
Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names

What's your current splash screen?
Restart the phon
e to see.

Same for me. I tried with a active/non-active TMO sim and not activated on Metro. It boots-up with TMO splash screen but won't register on the network. It shows the TMO APN but just wont register. It only allows you to make emergency calls.

Can you share your step-by-step activation procedure starting with the moment you opened the box?
