only comes with 3 years Android updates, so only one more update in 2026? Also outside screen update was dramatically better in 2024, and the 2025 RAZR was $160 at Total.

Android updates have nothing to do with being unlocked. It's a tradeoff, great price, but phone may lack critical patches/updates after 2026.
Reason alone to avoid Android OS. Too many forks, and manufacturers deliberately abandon patching so they can sell/create more electronic trash that will itself go EOL in a couple years. I have lots of complaints against Apple, but they don't play this game except in very rare exceptions. If I buy a 3-4 year old Apple device I can safely bet that it's got 3-4 years of supported security patches coming until it's EOL.
Some ppl just care less about updates.
But if you're buying a 2023 model phone that came w/3 years of updates, you have a year left. but that's why you're paying $195. You can sometimes get by without updates for a year or two or more depending what you're using the phone for, so it's really dependent on the buyer's goals.
