According to the terms, you need two months of service and not one month. Am I missing something?
These deals not as good previous months. 9A was $199 in April and 9 was $249 in July.
Talked to their CS and looked at the terms for previous similar deals (excluding the $249 one), and this is what the unlocking status will be for this if you buy it without an annual plan for $339:
The Pixel 9 will come locked to US Mobile. You must activate it within 15 days, and keep service for 30 continuous days to keep the discount (they will charge you for the difference if you do not follow the above). Once the 30 days pass, the phone will become unlocked.
the fine print says 60 days for me.
Are these are brand new in the Google box or a US mobile box?
US Mobile branded
I'd rather not port my number. I think what I want to do is unlock the phone using the xda method, keep my current plan with tello, and use the dual sim feature to fulfill the 60 day US Mobile requirement. Cheapest US Mobile plan is 50 texts - 0 talk - 0 data for (i think it was) $4.50/mo.
Not sure if all of the above will work
No requirements of porting. Just buy $339 option, then activate it with the cheapest plan (new number) for 60 days to unlock. That's it.

Yeah I think we're on the same page. I just don't want to wait 60 days before I can use the phone, so I'm hoping I can unlock it following xda instructions. This way I can use the double sim feature w both my current tello plan, and a new, useless $5/mo plan from US Mobile.

^^ haven't read through all of those instructions yet, but it appears I'm going to need a physical SIM from tello, and an esim from US Mobile

I just got it. It came unlocked in regular Google packaging. Activated on the cheapest line via ESIM as somebody on this chat advised. Added second physical SIM from my main line. works just fine so far
if its unlocked check OEM unlock should not be greyed out under developer options.

And it is not. I put a second SIM in from my main line and it works. It is an unlocked phone from the get go. Same experience as some other "slicker" described
I bought it without 1-year plan though, not sure if that's the difference.
