I learned long ago that this "Clipper Oil" is simply mineral oil. Bought a 16oz bottle of equate mineral oil at walmart for 2-3 bucks and it'll last a lifetime for this application.

I use baby oil instead. I have been doing that for years... never had any problems with it. Yes, use the oil before storing and before using. You should be fine.

I find it much handier to keep non-baby mineral oil around, but I 100% agree. Buy a box of assorted dropper / needle bottles for all kinds of lubricants. Reuse eyedrop bottles. I also like wash bottles, but they don't have lids.

I reuse the same dropper that the clipper came with. Wink

same here. I've been using baby oil as well for my clipper, scissors, and knife pivot. I usually apply some oil after I clean out the clipper. I began to do this thinking it may be better for sensitive skin.

I've been using Singer machine oil on my clipper blades. Should I switch to this instead?

lol I have a bottle of this that I bought in 2011. I have had a buzzed head for the last 30 years, cutting my hair one to two times a week. I've had three clippers in my life so far, still on the 3rd that was also bought in 2011. I put wayyyy more oil than 5 drops on the blade every time I cut. I have 1/2 bottle still it seems like, if not more. This crap lasts FOREVER if used just for clipper blades.

My original dropper is sealed. No refilling.
I bought this in 2021, but paid $6.84. Can't say whether it has helped the blade since I dropped my clippers and broke the blade. My clippers work welll, but the blade is new.
