Corded is Not as big of deal for an edger...this is something you use maybe 2 or 3 times a year, not every time you weedwhacker. I'd rather go this route over a cheaper 18v battery version for the power level needed.

I have to agree that corded is a pain; however, I also agree with Defender77 that you use it so infrequently that it is not as big a deal. The edger was the last tool I finally converted to cordless (I found this item [amazon.com] on FB Marketplace for super cheap). If I had not found it on FB, I probably could not have justified the cordless purchase since it is a nice-to-have vs a need-to-have.
With THAT said , I LOVE the cordless version of this edger, its a beast and the portability allows me to do my neighbors driveway as well Smilie

I have ryobi 18v products and I wish their $99 edger (tool only) goes down to this price... I feel like it's worth shelling out the extra $ to just get the ryobi one since I'm already on that ecosystem.

EDIT:
On the other hand, I can likely use the chord + 1kw battery with this product for better mobility. Decisions decisions.

Correct answer!
This person knows what a lawn is supposed to look like.

Every true landscaper will edge the lawns during visit (unless you direct them not to do it).

If you do it weekly (or every other week for the lazy) you can complete the task in the time it takes to unwind and wind in the cord.

The reason people don't do it regularly is because purchased the item in this thread.
Waste of time and money.
