not what i was saying. i would have returned my prebuilt 5080 system for the more expensive laptop if the GPU (5090) actually performed as a 5090 and not toned down to a 5070ti ish performance

I don't think most people understand this, I could be wrong but just personal observation of comments over the years.

The 5080 desktop is about 20-25% better than 5090mobile.
The difference between 5080mobile and 5090mobile is about 10%.
The reason is available power draw.

This laptop still is good. The processor is in the top 5, the ram is good, the screen is great. But I personally would get a similar spec laptop with a 5080mobile and save 30% of my money to lose maybe 10% of performance.

does it feel heavy? since gotta carry it everyday
Also consider that huge power brick as a gaming laptop like this needs recharging after 3 to 4 hours of use on battery.

a Microsoft Update bricked my last Gen Lenovo Legion laptop. I think I would be in the hospital if they bricked a $3k-$4k laptop

Specs at Lenovo say 6 lbs. My Legion 4090 is 5.5 lbs. and I think its heavy. I don't think you would want to carry this around all day.

In practice the 5090 mobile is a 5070 desktop version. 5090 mobile is faster by 7% but after what you expect over the years when the laptop starts to get throttled by heat it's gonna be slower by 2-3% compared to the 5070. The 70ti is outright faster than the 5090 by 7%.

I tried looking for benchmarks to support this claim. Can you refer me to any, please?

I can tell you 15 minutes gaming eats 30-40 percent of the battery
If you're not gaming a couple hours. Gaming a couple minutes.

Don't get this if you intend to use the battery as anything other than a UPS. Makes no sense.

I have the gen8 w/ 4090(mobile) 16gb vram and 175w
This 5090(mobile) has 24gb vram and 175w

My desktop 5090 has 32gb vram and 600w.

There are none because that's a crazy claim lol. The 5090 Mobile GPU die is similar to the 5080 desktop and probably after thermal/power limits are accounted for, the performance is closer to the 5070 Ti (same die as well but lower power and some disabled regions). Still much more performance than the 5070 desktop

unfortunately both 1tb drives it comes with are 4.0 youll need to buy a 5.0 and replace the one in the 5.0 slot to get full speeds

There's no direct comparison. But I got it through the AI where they're probably just taking the 5090m benchmark and comparing them to the 5070. And what I got is 5070 is 7% slower and the 5070 ti is 7% faster than the 5090. Also lol at much more power than the 5070.. You have the burden of proof to prove that one.

You are citing an AI response which instantly calls into question your credibility
