26,000 reviews at 4.8 stars. Can't imagine it's that bad for basic appliances.

These appear to have a 500V clamping voltage, if I can properly read the UL label on the one grainy photo someone took of the back. This is not bad for the price, although 330V is the ideal limit.

26,000 of which have never had a surge so they couldnt possibly tell you whether it works well.

Think about it for a sec ---- surge protectors are one of the dumbest products to trust general reviews for. It's 26,000 people saying "i have no clue whether its core purpose works right"

Most people just use it for the power strip feature (more outlets) and don't need/care about the surge protection.

friend, i'm not saying you're fake. but you just joined, and this is your first post, defending a no name $8 'surge protector'.

some will be wary with all the other fake / bot posts on here.

I'd get these for travel only. I seem to need more outlets for all my electronic crap I take when traveling. I've had too many of those hotel room desk plugs not work or every outlet taken up behind the TV when I've brought a console.

I like these for the straight plugs. I use them on my covered front porch for Christmas lights and my outlets are recessed. Can't get a 90 degree plug in them.

A better bottle of snake oil is still a bottle of snake oil.
