My issue with some of the other handhelds is they either seem to abandon the old version when the shiny v2 is released and / or they all are missing something major / have a huge concession that the SD doesn't have. For example, the ROG Ally are great but have no touch pads, the Legion does have a touch pad and great screen but requires a small pickup to tote around. And neither appears to have any real community support behind them (comparatively vs the Steam Deck).Also, I kind of get why they have different CPU versions of some of the other handhelds, but that also adds confusion regarding configs and community support, and what not. It isn't just which handheld you have but which CPU, version #, brand, OS, how much did you undervolt, etc. Worse than a desktop gaming rig…LOL. Value just updates all the Steam Decks (as of now) and for the most part it doesn't matter if you have a LCD from 2022 or a OLED from 2025, if it works on one, it will work on all.
The Xbox ROG Ally X is tremendously more ergonomic than the Steam Deck. Hands and thumbs would hurt with the Steam Deck.
That being said, those 'handles' might be more comfortable, can't comment because I have held one....nor have you since they haven't be released yet.
P.S. Won't the Xbox ROG Ally X be double this price? So back to my original point. And if only they made $20 grips that could replicate the same thing on the Steam Deck….if only

Ergonomics is a matter of taste, how you hold something, and body types. IMO that is completely subjective and is like saying "my friend (the influencer) said Pepsi tastes better."

The Skull & Co grip case is the best, it both increases the grip size, while adding stand (75 degree - no kick stand required) all while still fiting in the OEM deck case.
Thanks for that info. FWIW, I love the stock ergonomics. I just run a silicone skin to protect the overall finish so it keeps (as much as possible) resell value for later.*
