Umm ya did it to me about a year ago. Hours on calls and chat with various service agents over many days and because whenever service was restored it went away quickly. I had to port out to have a working phone again. I had about two good years of good experiences and I was a huge fan and promoter of this company until then.

At the top of page it says : "Pre-order Unlocked iPhone 17 Pro. Save $200. Limited Time". This is totally misleading and deceptive if phone is locked for 12 months if you want the rebate because as per title save 200 on unlocked phone

@Red-PocketD can you please confirm?

I spoke to customer service and they confirmed phone is unlocked and you need to pay for 3 months to get the rebate and ensure line is active till you get the rebate meaning it may stretch to 4 months. But the phone is unlocked from the get go and stays unlocked irrespective of rebate...
Here is the conversation :
"I have a question about iPhone 17 preorder.. if I want the rebate are the phones locked or unlocked ?
Thank you for your interest in our RedPocket phones and deals, XXXXX. The iPhone 17 we offer is fully unlocked, and you will receive the rebate with the unlocked device.
so I can use red pocket and another eSim along side and still get the rebate after 3 months ?
Regarding that, XXXX, that's correct—you can use an eSIM from another carrier while with RedPocket. Just make sure to install the RedPocket eSIM first before the other carrier. Also, ensure the line is active within 3 months to qualify for the rebate.
ok after 3 months do I need still to keep the red pocket line active for the phone to stay unlocked ?
RP CS Mellisa 07:39 PM
After claiming the rebate, you have the option to either keep the line active or not. Since the device is purchased unlocked, it will remain unlocked once you receive the rebate. Just be sure to claim the rebate first."

I just bought on my receipt and it says unlocked for iPhone 17s but last year on my $300 rebate iPhone 16s it does indeed say locked on the receipt and they were locked. Would be false advertising if this is not unlocked.

I think my question is do I have to apply the new eSIM activation and have service for these new iPhones 17s or can it be used on different phones, my locked RedPocket phones? @red-pocketD can confirm?

FYI. Red Pocket Mobile operates on tier 3 data priority, which means its customers may experience data deprioritization during times of high network traffic compared to customers of major carriers like AT&T, who have higher data priority. This can lead to slower data speeds in congested areas.

Make sure whatever MVNO you use works in your area for you well. The MVNOs I know about that do not provide lower priority is T-Mobile Connect and Google Fi.

Hi everyone, to clarify, this limited-time offer of $200 savings on the iPhone 17 lineup is unlocked upon receiving your order. So there isn't a 12-month locking period as stated in the Deal Details. This offer is also available to existing customers.

Please let us know if you have any questions that we can have answered. Our team is available via chat support, and you can connect with us via [email protected] for any questions regarding your account and eligibility.

I had a horrible experience with Redpocket a couple years back when I got my iPhone 15. I got the $300 discount at the time and that seemed worth it. I also was able to get a good rate on the monthly plan, I believe it was $35/month. But the main problem was the service itself. My iPhone kept disconnecting from the cellular network every single day, a simple turn on/off airplane mode fixed the issue, but it was annoying to do so every day for a whole year before I could unlock the phone and port out.

I got the same deal for my wife and she "only" experienced this problem once a month on our bill due date (even though we had autopay). Never been happier to switch providers after that experience.

I contacted RP customer service repeatedly to get the issue fixed but they were not able to resolve the issue, they blamed wifi calling on a eSIM only phone... but even with wifi calling disabled the problem persisted.

I hope you have a copy for your records.
Still, we need more clarification. They are still not saying here whether you would get the code to claim the rebate if you stop service after 3rd month ends.

They do say in their small print the code comes within 10 business days after the end of the 3rd month of autopay is completed.
https://www.redpocket.com/rebate#...arn%20more.

BUT In another place it says that the initial order of the service plan will not count towards this rebate requirement! And it will be between 120 - 150 days to get the rebate code. So that translates to 4 months total paid plan being necessary. The initial order month prepaid, plus 3 consecutive months paid while on Autopay.
https://help.redpocket.com/rebate...%20Certain

I see that no matter how these details are being asked about here, no straight answers from RP rep, even though they are monitoring this thread. So I did my own due diligence.

So, the bottom line is 4 months total paid plan needed, and if they say you need to still be active until they send you the code, maybe you'd need a 5th month. 120-150 days. Seems they might even disqualify you if you stop at the end of the 4th month and request it, but have not received it.

This is screaming deception to me, either way.

I think the lesser discount is alright for an UNLOCKED phone. Please advice what is the cheapest way to get a phone # to port in. I assume it doesn't matter whether is GSMA or GSMT since RedPocket doesn't own either network. I believe Visible, owned by Verizon, only want AT&T or T-Mobile port ins.
