Existing Customer: Bought an iPhone 16 on Sept 13, 2024 (got $300 rebate).
Sept 13, 2025 I tried to purchase the iPhone 17 as an existing customer/upgrade and it was telling me my line wasn't eligible. Tried again on Sept 14, 2025 and it worked.
Customer service rep and check out messages says I qualify for rebate again (1 per year).

What they don't tell you is: this "unlocked" phone, as a term of the rebate, will REMAIN LOCKED to Redpocket for 12 MONTHS after purchase.
I know this because I tried (unsuccessfully) to leave Redpocket and got this unwelcome realization.
A report to the BBB was not able to resolve the issue.
So be aware going in: you will get the rebate yes, but then you've STILL got to finish out a year of Redpocket before they will unlock your "unlocked" phone

"I have a question about iPhone 17 preorder.. if I want the rebate are the phones locked or unlocked ?
Thank you for your interest in our RedPocket phones and deals, XXXXX. The iPhone 17 we offer is fully unlocked, and you will receive the rebate with the unlocked device.
so I can use red pocket and another eSim along side and still get the rebate after 3 months ?
Regarding that, XXXX, that's correct—you can use an eSIM from another carrier while with RedPocket. Just make sure to install the RedPocket eSIM first before the other carrier. Also, ensure the line is active within 3 months to qualify for the rebate.
ok after 3 months do I need still to keep the red pocket line active for the phone to stay unlocked ?

After claiming the rebate, you have the option to either keep the line active or not. Since the device is purchased unlocked, it will remain unlocked once you receive the rebate. Just be sure to claim the rebate first."

Make sure whatever MVNO you use works in your area for you well. The MVNOs I know about that do not provide lower priority is T-Mobile Connect and Google Fi.

I got the same deal for my wife and she "only" experienced this problem once a month on our bill due date (even though we had autopay). Never been happier to switch providers after that experience.
I contacted RP customer service repeatedly to get the issue fixed but they were not able to resolve the issue, they blamed wifi calling on a eSIM only phone... but even with wifi calling disabled the problem persisted.

Still, we need more clarification. They are still not saying here whether you would get the code to claim the rebate if you stop service after 3rd month ends.
They do say in their small print the code comes within 10 business days after the end of the 3rd month of autopay is completed.
https://www.redpocket.c
BUT In another place it says that the initial order of the service plan will not count towards this rebate requirement! And it will be between 120 - 150 days to get the rebate code. So that translates to 4 months total paid plan being necessary. The initial order month prepaid, plus 3 consecutive months paid while on Autopay.
https://help.redpocket.
I see that no matter how these details are being asked about here, no straight answers from RP rep, even though they are monitoring this thread. So I did my own due diligence.
So, the bottom line is 4 months total paid plan needed, and if they say you need to still be active until they send you the code, maybe you'd need a 5th month. 120-150 days. Seems they might even disqualify you if you stop at the end of the 4th month and request it, but have not received it.
This is screaming deception to me, either way.
