I think they were on sale for around $200 about a year ago.
I bought the wedge sole ones. They're not as dressy, but I absolutely love them.

I'm on my feet 12-14 hours a day, in the emergency dept. I've been living in Nike cross-training shoes & have to replace them every 6 months. They are super comfortable but once I hit the 6-8 month mark, the support in the shoe is done. Thinking about transitioning to a work boot like this but have Q's:
1) Is a boot like this suitable to being on my feet literally all day?
2) Will the boot stand up to the (occasional) exposure to "body fluids"? (I end up throwing away any Nike shoe I'm wearing when that happens bc you can't get out the stuff on the non-leather parts of the shoe.)
3) I drive a manual transmission vehicle so will this boot allow for enough "feel" to manipulate the clutch?

Butchy, albeit still very feminine looking.

I have these and the red wing equivalent. They both ran large (12.5 in adidas and 11 in these) the redwings have thicker leather and larger soles and took a while to break in. The wolverines are way more comfortable and broke in fast. The sole will wear out but they are meant to be resoled when needed instead of just getting new boots. It's odd because while I like the redwings more, I find myself wearing these way more often.

Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. For $140 I could get a brand new pair of boots.
Now if they lasted several years of daily wear before needing a re-sole, I might consider it.
I think $140 was just an estimate. I've had mine for close to 10 years and got them resoled for the first time by a local cobbler for $80. Before these I had a $140 pair of doc martins that fell apart after 1 year. I'd rather have these.

If you need wide, you'll have to do Goral in the UK or Thursday in the US/Vietnam.

For the sale price this is an ok boot. It has plenty of shortcomings though. Fake leather in the heel, fiber board instead of veg tan leather, etc.

Install vibram soles before you start walking on these. When they wear out, it'll be easier for the next cobbler to replace them

I can't recommend these. Too many quality questions to recommend. You can get similar style and perhaps the same quality for hundreds less.

For boots that you can wear 12-14 hours a day, ones that are made on the 55 last from Whites or Nicks will serve they purpose but NOT for an emergency room (and I drive a manual with them but they take some getting used to, they definitely don't have feel for a manual). Nurses wear Danskos but I don't know if they make a men's version but Dansko shoes are high arch and are comfortable for standing long periods of time. I sure wouldn't recommend Wolverines for your situation. Maybe go to REI or the Good Feet Store and see what they say.

Isn't this the company that poisoned the water in Michigan?
