  • Doorway 42W Series gate fits openings 28 to 42" and is 30" tall
  • 17" wide door can swing both ways; gate door conveniently stays open when engaged more than 90 degrees; gate door opened less than 90 degrees will close automatically; door stopper prevents door from swinging over stairs when installed at top of stairs
  • Fits in doorways or hallways with easy no-drill pressure mount system to help prevent damage; also fits at top or bottom of stairs, on walls or flat banisters, with included hardware kit
  • Door locks securely to keep children & pets contained with narrowly spaced bars that prevent them from squeezing through; adults can open door with one hand by engaging the latch and pulling up on the door

I don't have it, but one review says the slats are 2.75" apart while some others say 2.5" for the largest gap. Unsure if that's helpful for your needs or not, but I'd assume 2.75" to be safe.

Was going to order as a gift but read the 1 star reviews and note that it usually ships in one to two months. Whomever needs this can't typically wait.

The two month ship time wasn't there when I posted - I assume they're just backordered at this point.

Amazon was offering 1-2 months shipping and now is showing dead. Walmart arrives in 2 days. Obviously I went with walmart.

For anyone wondering, they cancelled my order today "due to lack of availability" but when you go to Amazons page they now have it in stock for $69.99.
